@VelvetElvis: I personally gave up on getting perfect gear slots and I feel that I'm too high up on the ranked ladder to try new gear in ranked or I'll lose worse than I normally do.

But I agree that the feedback doesn't make much sense, however you do get a pretty big reward for winning matches so if you play a lot of ranked it should balance out as long as you don't keep losing; it's probably much faster actually.

@MasterWario: Glad to hear I'm not alone. I have a few friends who play on my profile, which helps with the gear (probably not so good for my reputation though, ha), so we'll see how it ends up.

The modes balancing out (in terms of rewards) was my initial thought, too, but I'm not sure — it'd take some research to know, and there are so many variables (I feel like I get more "streaks," winning or losing, in Ranked). Psychologically, the constant point rewards in Turf War make me feel like I'm getting more positive feedback, though. I'd love for Ranked Mode to be tweaked in such a way to reward more points toward gear and levels, while keeping the letter grading system the same.

Or maybe I could suck less.

@Blue_Blur ah, I see. The standard Splatterscope? I used to main the kelp version since I'm not much of a fan of the bomb rush and splat bombs and I like the killer wail quite a bit. Plus the sprinkler helps build my special over time too.

@yokokazuo: Will do! I usually main the Splatterscope actually, when I'm a sniper, but the stages were Bluefin and Blackbelly, so I thought the extra range would come in handy. I also liked having the burst bombs. I love burst bombs! I do agree that the damage up ability helps tremendously. It can really save you in those up close situations!

I decided just to use the standard scope splatterscope myself that rotation, honestly think it's a bit better on those two stages for TC as on bluefin it can hit tower and two little platforms either side easily and still pressures a team who are going for tower. Blackbelly isn't to big so the slightly faster charge of the standard scope just makes skirmishes easier.

I am honestly staggered at the number of people who can't play Blackbelly SZ. If there are 2 zones, don't just rely on one player to hold the other zone! I know that isn't anyone on here, but I needed to vent after a really bad losing streak due to that. I also hate the algorithms for deciding who's on which team. If there are 4 S Rankers, 4 A Rankers, it makes complete sense to put all the S Rankers on one team.

Sigh. I'll just wait for rainmaker to roll round.

A puzzle solved is its own reward.

@TheXReturns: Want to team up?

Can someone tell me how the new ranking system determines your placing? Is it a combination of K/D ,distance traveled with RM/Tower or zone covered etc?Basically how involved you were in the match? I had one earlier where the bottom placed player had 13/5 while the top player only 2/1 .If how many kills you got does still count it has to be very minimal.

@OorWullie: I know that there is plenty of other ways to contribute but if someone goes 2 for 1 you would think that's more important then anything else then alone 3 or 4 to 1. I'm going to make an educated guess and say it's those that do mission objectives. Ie splat someone on the tower or Rainmaker. Also paint the most splat zone area. At least that's how I feel I've been number one on my team when I didn't think I would be.

@Spoony_Tech: Yep I think so.The thinking behind it might be to encourage those who only go for kills and make no real attempt to actually help the team achieve what it is they're trying to do.TC seems to be the worst for that, sometimes it feels like I'm the only one that knows what mode we're playing. Many times before I've come bottom with only a couple of kills and a lot of deaths but I know it was my tower riding that got us the victory. This new way seems to at least give you more credit for that.

@OorWullie: but the problem is without really knowing what everyone did it looks silly seeing someone go 2 for 1 and finish last when I know in the back of my mind that person help me ride that tower a little further or protected me a little better while holding the Rainmaker.

@OorWullie: If I avoid riding the tower, it's (EDIT) not that I forgot what mode we're playing, it's just that in most cases, riding the tower is a guaranteed splat. I'm sure most people are either waiting for the right time, or hoping someone else will do it.

@Spoony_Tech: Yep,it'd be great if they could add some extra stats, like your distance traveled on the tower or with RM,percentage of zone you covered compared to your teammates, crucial kills etc.Just a couple of extra numbers next to your K/D so you know how much a part you played in the victory or defeat.

For TC, I like to start getting the Tower moving, but if someone else jumps on with me, I usually jump off and go on ahead to try and take down as my enemies as I can. I usually sacrifice myself, but usually kill around two opponents in the process, so pretty good deal if you ask me. As long as we start with a good lead, 7/10 times you'll most likely win. Most TC matches don't end with a knockout, so I think starting with a strong, far, lead is your best chance at winning the match. But that's just me. Personally, I don't mind riding the Tower, but my play style is more "go on ahead and distract the other team!" So if someone else is willing to ride on the Tower, I let them.

I like to get on the tower early too,can make all the difference. It's those matches where you've just been splatted, there's only a few seconds on the clock and you watch the map in despair as your 3 teammates are just running around next to it without actually getting on it then by the time you get down there it's all over.I realise they're probably caught up in their own battles but still,it can be frustrating to watch haha

Fully agree! Especially when you're close to winning in overtime, and only one person on your team is still alive, and is swimming around fighting next to the tower. Forget the enemy, GET. ON. THE. TOWER! I think that's the most frustrating part about TC... Fighting the other team is important, but if there only a few more numbers to go, your best bet is to get on the tower and try to make it. Or at least get on the tower for a second and keep it from going back to the center until your team gets back and can help.

I usually like to bring a weapon that has Inkmines as I don't mind being the one to go on the tower, it helps protects you when someone tries to directly splat you as you'll either splat the person with your weapon or the Inkmine will take care of it for you. Though of course it won't block Blasters and such, but I usually have faith in my teammates that they'll try to protect me.

I'm not lazy! ...I'm just very forgetful. :|

@Blue_Blur I will usually stay farther away and try to pick the enemy off of the tower, but if I have to then I will jump on it. Burst bombs do come in handy for it at least.
@Iggly I absolutely hate facing blasters when on the tower haha.

If I'm not playing as a charger and the enemy hasn't got one then I do this but from experience of playing as and against good chargers this can lead to a lose right off the bat.

I played on another account yesterday for TC and was in a C+/B- group, went 24-5 and still lost! Simply could not believe how hard it actually is especially when 2 of your team don't get on the bloody tower!! lol
