@Rexcalibr: I used to be about the look, but I've started to experiment more recently.I do tend to stick with the same weapon but I now change gear depending on the mode or map.I still always use my stealth jump boots, without them I struggle and for RM will usually have Ninja Squid active but I might also use bomb range up for TC and a couple of SZ maps,Quick superjump can be very useful on Port Mackerel SZ same with swim speed up,defence up is handy on maps where the action is relentless, tenacity is handy on maps like the Skatepark where you and your team will die a lot. It's definitely worth experimenting, the difference it can make to your game is very noticeable. As for the sub abilities,I need to dig deeper with that.I kind of just accept what it gives me.How much difference those can make with the right combo I'm not too sure?

At the same time though,I do still try to look the part with what I've got to choose from haha

@Rexcalibr Both. I have invisible contacts, school jacket and cream hi-tops, which is an amazing combo in terms of abilities. (Special Up, Quick Respawn, Ninja Squid, Quick Super Jump, Stealth Jump, Swim Speed Up, which means Ninja Squid and Stealth Jump have virtually no drawback on them), and is close to what I might actually wear. (If the School Jacket counts as a fleece).

With Stealth Jump, it's FAR more important to have Quick Respawn than Quick Super Jump, as you can quickly jump to a dying teammate and take out some of the opposition.

You'd be surprised at how much complimentary abilities can improve your game.

I'm building a complete new set-up for the tournament though, just so I have the element of surprise.

I think it's always more important to have quick respawn than quick super jump. I've been saved so many times by actually not having quick super jump. A lot of times, I would jump to somebody, and as I'm jumping in the air, I see that someone set a killer wail or instrike to where I'm about to land. Luckily, without the quick super jump, I land just as it ends and don't get splatted. If I jumped any faster, I would've gotten splatted. So that's why I actually find super quick jump no as helpful as respawn. I think respawn helps a lot!

As for me, I like having good abilities, but my Inkling's look is more important to me. Unless a piece of gear has a ability that I hate, like the 30 second opening one, I'll most likely use it. I really like the bandanas they added with the update, I think my Inkling will be wearing that for a long time. I also really want those snow boots, they look super cute! I also like the ability that comes with it, so I might switch between those and my blue sea slugs once I get the boots.

Quick Super Jump is helpful on Tower Control (Super Fast Stealth Respawning Jump), but not so much on Splat Zones or Turf War, where you see so much more variety in weapons, and a lot more Inkstrikes and Killer Wails.

@Kinan I do die a lot. Of an average game, I die about 8 times, for about 13 kills. Roller's aren't meant to be head on fighters anyway, so it suits me well to have a set that minimizes the setback of being splatted.

I liken it to being the bishop that is sacrificed to take the queen. Whilst I'm running mayhem behind enemy lines, my teammates can generally rally and avenge my inevitable demise.

I don't need defence up, as no matter how much I'm stacking, if I miss the ambush, I'm dead 9/10 times. The other times is when I pull off a spectacular move, like splatting the entirety of te other team in two hits and a suction bomb. (Which was pretty awesome).

The main problem I face is sniper fire, but I've worked around that by having learnt how to throw suction bombs accurately and quickly, which is well worth the time to learn. Metal grating is often a brilliant target, as only rollers really look down often.

I still keep getting splatted by snipers tho. XD

@Blue_Blur: I do, but I've been thinking of trying out the regular. The cycle right now is Rainmaker, according to Splatnet.

And I'm not sure when if my bus is coming, so maybe it will take a little while longer to get home.

DreamyViridi

Can I ask everyone here how they connect their Wii U to the internet? Before, I was wireless and the connection was near perfect but recently, there was a broadband issue in my area and since then, I think the Wii U's been struggling with my setting (evident by lag spikes in Smash). I'm thinking about going wired but I don't recall what I need for it...

@DreamyViridi: I'm doing fine on wireless, at least 90% of the time.

You'll probably want an official Wii LAN adapter, though. Do they still sell those?

I use wireless as well, I used to have internet issues a few months ago. Though it was most likely my router dying since I haven't had any issues ever since I had it replaced, though I guess I would sometimes have errors but they're hardly frequent.

I'm not lazy! ...I'm just very forgetful. :|

@DreamyViridi: I connect my Wii U wirelessly. Sometimes there's the occasional lag, but it's never something very serious. Don't forget that you are connecting to 7 other systems in all sorts of places around the world, and a bad connection from one system could affect everything else. If you do experience a lot of lag, then it's probably on your end. A wired connection might help, but I really wouldn't count on it.

God first.

@yokokazuo: @Nicolai: @wisdomsprince: You guys wanna do a quad squad when Nicolai gets home?

For Rainmaker in Triggerfish, I like to go the side route, and surprise the enemy from that side. It works well when one or two members take that route, while the other teamates distract them by charging forward. I always take the side path with the Rainamker, since I think it's too hard to get to the goal stand by going straight to the base. If you're using Tri, I would prepare the Bubbler, not grab the Rainmaker, and be ready to use the Bubbler when the other team charges when we're close. I'm using the regular Slosher, so I'm using a lot of burst bombs, but not focusing on getting my Inkstrke ready.

Also, I use wireless to router. Works well most of the time.
