....pfft...wow...WOW. There's taking a game's gameplay ideas and then there's...theft. We're starting to get into theft territory here. Or at least, horrible shamelessness on the levels of Snakes on a Train.

Fair enough bit cheeky of them but it doesn't look that great anyway, they're are clearly riding off of the games popularity but Splatoon isn't completely the first game to invent whatever genre it falls under. Nintendo might be able to get them on the name though.

Yeah, I doubt Nintendo can do too much about it. In all fairness though, no game is truely new and original as they have to borrow or base their ideas off of previous concepts, but this just seems too blatant off a rip-off. Considering that they literally borrowed Splatoon's lingo and layout, and it still looks pretty bad.

That minecraft mod splatoon mini game looks better than this disney version XD

@ELI-ASH: Don't forget the Team Fortress one as well.

I wonder what @rjejr has to say about this. Maybe he'll defend Nintendo this time instead of bashing them.

This has to mean something, like the Inklings being in Disney Infinity. Why else would they make a rip-off THIS obvious!? Also, I doubt that Nintendo would take any legal action against this. If they have the guts to go against Disney, then they are most certainly braver than I.

@NintendoFan64: If that was the case why not announce it. Nintendo was all about showing off the 2 in skylanders at e3.

I don't know. It's lame, but doesn't someone create a Mario level in every game that lets you?

@Spoony_Tech: Good point, but still, why else would they do that? Do they really think they're fooling anyone? Or do they just think they can get away with it because they're Disney?
@WanderingHypocrite: True, but those are made by the players of those games. THIS is made by the actual developers, who have then promoted it as if it were their own creation.

lol that looked so bad; I feel sorry for anyone trying to play that instead of Splatoon. You really should be playing any other shooter at that point...well any of the decent ones.

The thing is though, I hope that Disney Infinity isn't boring enough to justify playing that...

OK, looks like the mock DI Squid Wars? Seems legit, even if the paid DI team did make it. Here's how I see it - Disney isn't selling it, and it's bad - the best part for me about Spalton is putting down the seeker and swimming off in the ink, or spraying w/ the aerospray, this has none of those. In fact if they didn't name it Squid Wars - which makes no sense as there aren't any squid in it - then I wouldn't even bother comparing it to Spaltoon. The Minecraft mod is MUCH better. And that was days after Spaltoon came out, it's probably much better by now. Not saying it isn't a low hanging fruit blatant rip-off, but I see nothing illegal or unethical about it. DI is a toy box building game. When LBP came out everybody was making Super Mario levels, and Final Fantasy 7 type JRPG games when LBP2 came out. It's what people do w/ creative sandbox games, copy other games. If Disney sold this as one of those $20 stand alone packs like racing and platforming and called it Squid Wars and actually made it good by adding in a swimming mechanic then I'd dial up my lawyers if I were Ntinedo, but a bad copy level inside a creative game, seems more tribute and homage than anything else.

Oh, and since the first reveal I always thought Spaltoon played off of the DeBlob color everything mechanic, and I do think the people making Spatoon must have been influenced by DeBlob, but having played both extensively I've forgotten all about DeBlob. Not all 2D platformers are Super Mario Bros rip offs and not all 3D platformers are SM64 clones.
