So recently I came across a new critique about Splatoon. It was one that I had never really heard, and it was talking about how Splatoons aiming controls were broken and unskillful. He cited that the aiming controls would seem to be incredibly poor, almost to the point that they would be broken and dreadful in anything combat related.
I found his opinion interesting, although I still disagree with him about the severity, as he saw it as a deal breaker. So I was wondering, what do you all think about Splatoon's aiming controls, and do you sort of agree with the critique.
It's just someone that doesn't like change. Do they know they can use twin sticks? Personally anyone using gyro will wipe the floor with twin sticks. Of a better aim sceam is not skill then I don't know what is. Twin sticks isn't skill that's for sure. In real life we can aim at anyting in a slipt second and that what gryo brings to the game.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

I don't know if he means the gyroscop motion control or just the control in general. In my opinion there is nothing wrong with neither.
He said the issue with the aiming was with the controls in general.

Millions of Splatoon matches have been played by now, and if aiming was broken that would be pretty apparent from user comments day 1. Testing a weapon in the testing area makes it pretty apparent that there is no issues. The paint hits where the aim is, if the target is in range.
i tryed out this week's DLC weapon it seems abit slow range then the regular ones you get at the weapon shop

Since I began keeping my OWN stats since Nintendo sucks:
W/L: 51-38
Win%: 57.3%
K/D: 337-256
K/D Ratio: 1.32
Wouldn't you like to know your own stats? Aren't you just ALITTLE curious?
I should start doing this, as I have no idea how good I really am, and it would give me something to do in the breaks between matches. Plus, I'd like to track how I do on the different maps.
Does anyone else think that Splatoon actually does have a lot strategy and technique when you get down to it in the game? The higher ranked I get, the more focused, and aware I have to get, because just barging in with no strategy doesn't really seem to work as well.
Wow my first match of the night, and the lag was so bad that 3 of the other team's players dropped out.
Needless to say, their last player finished with 0.7% of the turf covered.
I kind of feel bad for the guy.

Absolutely. I think it shows even in Turf War, which people who has played high ranked battles and who hasn't.
Got my highest score last night on Turf Wars, 1903 with 8 kills and no deaths. It was on Kelp Dome and I was using the Aeroblaster so it's quite easy to score high but I'd never scored over 1700 before so was fairly chuffed with myself.Even more so as the majority were level 20 with a 16 and 17 making up the numbers.I was on fire for a good few hours last night pulling off some remarkable moves but then when I played it earlier I was all over the place getting splatted left right and centre.
I decided to buy a network adapter for my Wii U in hopes that using a wired connection would solve my occasional lags and random disconnects while playing Turf Wars. Unfortunately it didn't solve that problem.
So far the only solution I have found is when you experience a lag (as in the ground you're inking isn't inking) and you aren't low on ink. Just stop moving until your ink starts appearing. If you continue moving during the lag, you'll get disconnected.

Congrats! I wonder what the theoretically best score for turf war is (with good weapon set for painting, gear optimal for ink/speed, constantly access to new areas to paint, no vertical jumps, no enemy encounters, etc). The best score I've seen so far is 2,111 (including the added 300 for winning team). Around 2,500 maybe?
Remember that Famitsu fashion design contest for Splatoon, where the winner design would be included in a future Splatoon update? Here are some contributions:

I find that at times when I get the lags and disconnections is when I'm pair in a room with mostly non-Japanese players (which rarely happens no matter what time I play) and one of them is on top. I guess it's because a good amount of Jpn players have better internet then we do even if they're on the other side of the world.
Speaking of network adapter, I decided to use my old nyko one a few weeks back and it really cut down on the disconnects for me. Now I think it happens maybe once every 50 or more match compared to every 20-30.
