Behold this contraption:
Surprisingly, it works pretty darn well(Battle Dojo). I think this is genius, and Nintendo should do this for many more games... such as Star Fox.

How does that work? You can't tell me you can use both the sticks and the Wiimote together like that. If so how?

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

The way I use the GamePad. Oddly enough, I find myself using both the sticks and the controller itself, even if the y-axis for the sticks is disabled. The Wiimote + Pro Controller setup is only lighter than the GamePad... Just wish it was supported for online matches!
I guess what I'm saying is the game allows you to use both at the same time somehow. You don't need to connect a nunchuck?
No, no nunchuk needed. According to the article @yokokazuo referred to, you connect your Wiimote and perform some code on the Pro Controller. By the power of genius the Wiimote will be connected to the Pro Controller. Then, all you need to do is to find a way to attach the Wiimote to the back of the Pro Controller so that it mimics the function of the GamePad completely.
Bottom line, if you connect the Wiimote(to the Wii U), perform the code on the Pro Controller(or Classic Controller), the Wiimote will be connected to the Pro Controller. The Wiimote doesn't even need to be touching the Pro Controller, but to perfectly mimic the GamePad controls you need to find a way to attach the Wiimote to the controller.
Wi-Fi Game List:
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Splatoon
Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS + All DLC
Mario Kart 8 + All DLC
Mario Golf: World Tour + All DLC
Mario Kart 7
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Got this game today. Worked fantastic after I turned off the hideous motion controls. This has got to be the prettiest game on the Wii U. Also, the smoothness of the online multiplayer is really impressive. Only one or two hiccups in five hours of gameplay.
I got the 32GB system, so, yeah. xp
For me it just depends on the game, Splatoon looks like the kinda game I'll keep coming back to, like Smash. (even though I bought that game physically, lol)

Keep it PG-13-ish.
So I noticed that the Squid Jump game has a logo in Inkling language that looks just like Nintendo's...
This must mean that there exists an entire Inkling version of Nintendo. There is a Satoru Iwata Inkling. A Shigeru Miyamoto Inkling. Dear god... Even a Reggie Fils-Aime Inkling.
Edit: Nevermind, Japan has their first splatfest next week and get a shirt for choosing a side.
It'll be so cool to play all the maps at night. Europe gets the splatfest last, but perhaps we'll get the bonus of having more new maps to play by then.
QUESTION!: Do you have to constantly scan the Amiibo to get their content, or is it a one and done deal?
I got the three pack and haven't opened it... I don't really want the figures, but I want the content. If I can just scan them each once, then sell them at a reasonable used price (not looking for profit), then I will. But if you have to always scan them, I'll just return the unopened three pack, as I don't think the content is worth the asking price if you don't like the figures.
You have to scan them in more than once if you want to use them more than once. Also, I don't get it when you said 'but I want the content', and then 'the content isn't worth the asking price'. Why did you get it in the first place?

I'd just go digital. o.o
Anyways later tonight I may go back online again.
I'm all physical on Wii U. Especially since I don't have an external hard drive to use with it.
Splatoon is only 1.8 gb in size so even without a harddrive you would be able to easily store it on the system itself.
Also for around $40 you can grab the same external storage option I use: http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Turbo-128GB-Flash-Drive/dp/B00FE2N1...
128 gb is more than enough to store several games, all of my many games are digital and I am so far only using half of it.
