QUESTION!: Do you have to constantly scan the Amiibo to get their content, or is it a one and done deal?
I got the three pack and haven't opened it... I don't really want the figures, but I want the content. If I can just scan them each once, then sell them at a reasonable used price (not looking for profit), then I will. But if you have to always scan them, I'll just return the unopened three pack, as I don't think the content is worth the asking price if you don't like the figures.
You have to scan them in more than once if you want to use them more than once. Also, I don't get it when you said 'but I want the content', and then 'the content isn't worth the asking price'. Why did you get it in the first place?
You don't like the figures, yet you own the game? These are three of the best Amiibos yet. The good thing is you can't scan them through the packaging, you do have to scan them at least once then try to get through all 20+ challenges in one go, good luck with that. And once opened you may be able to find a buyer but I doubt they would pay full price for the an opened package.
Got this game today. Worked fantastic after I turned off the hideous motion controls. This has got to be the prettiest game on the Wii U. Also, the smoothness of the online multiplayer is really impressive. Only one or two hiccups in five hours of gameplay.
I'd just go digital. o.o
Anyways later tonight I may go back online again.
I'm all physical on Wii U. Especially since I don't have an external hard drive to use with it.
Splatoon is only 1.8 gb in size so even without a harddrive you would be able to easily store it on the system itself.
Also for around $40 you can grab the same external storage option I use: http://www.amazon.com/PNY-Turbo-128GB-Flash-Drive/dp/B00FE2N1...
128 gb is more than enough to store several games, all of my many games are digital and I am so far only using half of it.
That's actually very helpful. I'll probably end up needing one of these for all those downloadable data packs for XCX. Thanks!
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Battle Dojo was not only playable this morning but now it's actually fun! Me and my son can go toe to toe now with no handicaps. What a brilliant idea for that set up!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I have a a wii u pro controller and the gamepad. Can 2 people in the same room not play online together in Splatoon? Like one playing on the gamepad and one playing on the wii u pro controller? I also have 4 wiimotes with nunchucks. Can you not play with the wiimote nunchucks at all?
I thought this was the "mario kart" of shooters? Which, at the very least, should mean some decent controller support?

You play as a single player online using dual screens: the TV+Gamepad. Any reference to "Mario Kart of shooters" would mean that it takes a game genre and makes a "fun to play for everyone" version, not necessarily an identical feature set to Mario Kart.
The Gamepad is a very decent controller for Splatoon. It's also included with the Wii U.
The only local play support Splatoon has is a 1 vs. 1 balloon popping mode with Gamepad+Pro Controller.
No online play with anyone locally. Which is a big shame, because that would be amazingly fun and I wouldn't just feel like I was playing against bots like I do when playing online alone. There's a way to use the wii remotes with the pro controller, though it's a bit strange. Personally, I'm glad they stuck to traditional (more or less) control schemes. Everyone has the same controller online, so there's no difference in how they play
Wi-Fi Game List:
Xenoblade Chronicles X
Splatoon
Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS + All DLC
Mario Kart 8 + All DLC
Mario Golf: World Tour + All DLC
Mario Kart 7
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
I really wasn't that excited for Splatoon before it came out, but after watching some gameplay videos it really impressed me. It's incredibly smooth at 60fps and the gameplay really reminds me of De Blob. I went ahead and ordered on Amazon, so I'm looking forward to playing some matches soon.

I wasn't to interested at first either. Looked good but thought I could wait for a while to get it. Glad I didn't as I've not been this addicted to an online shooter since. Goldeneye Wii. Excellent gameplay and so fun wine oflr lose.

They need to do like Mario Kart and have bots fill in for people who disconnect, you could even have them be Octolings.
That's a good point. Player disconnects have happened to me a couple of times and when it did it was incredibly frustrating because there's pretty much no way to win unless the other team is full of incompetent players. Fortunately this rarely happens. I will say that my connection has been hit or miss since launch. You have to hand it to Nintendo for making mostly functional global online games though. I'm quite certain no other dev has done it as well. Heck almost none even try.
I didn't care much for it either but I got it as a gift and I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it. It really is like a shooter made for me; I can't stand FPS but Splatoon is a lot of fun! And I don't have to worry about weirdos screaming into the mic either!
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
I am really enjoying this a lot too. Didn't really like the looks of it before but I got it last friday toegther with all 3 amiibo for some extra challenges and sweet rewards. Online works really smooth and it's so friggin' addicting!! Level 8 already in two days and finished the campaign today too, which was really excellent. I'm really looking forward for all the additional modes they are adding later
Imo the best OST on wiiu along with dk tropical freeze
Agreed. Especially the credits song!
