So does anyone know how the points towards your next level work? I'm currently B+ and when I win or lose I normally get/lose 10 points, but once in a while I will lose just 8 then get 12 on my next win. (I've been going up and down in recent matches so I wonder if that is why)
Online is starting to become worse with me, a lot of one sided matches, connection problems, people using lag to their advantage, etc etc, not max level, half ways through rank but I might just take a break from this game...at least I can't loose any progress.
Weird, I always end up with people who don't even cover the area in ink, they just run on ahead and I'm the one having to cover up everything.

Keep it PG-13-ish.

I'm one of those people, I like to get a foot hold on some areas depending on the board. There's plenty Of time to go back and paint That part over. Believe me I'll die lol

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
both ways of playing have their benefits. going on ahead and inking over enemy ink gets you more points faster but sticking around your base earn you an early special.
Back on topic, I did a match on Port Mackerel in Splat Zones and about a third of the way into the match, I managed to take hold of the enemy side alley (from their base, on the left) and hold that position and the splat zone below long enough to run the clock down to about ten points. We lost control at 1 point and they never gained it. We took back control in the last ten seconds and swiped a knockout from under their noses. It was pretty sweet.
Has anyone actually broken the C+ barrier yet for ranked matches? Given the random team configurations, I've found it rather slow to advance up the ladder with a flat 50% win rate (2 steps forward, 1 step back).

I did, but given the the decrease in points each rank, it get's harder and harder to rank up, I would be lucky if I got to rank up anymore with all the problems I keep encountering online.
I'm having a hard time getting past C rank. I've gotten to C rank a few times, then I'll lose like 5 in a row and be back down in C-... but it's still so much fun playing.

For all of B it is 10 points for winning, I'm currently B+, but have been going up and down all day.

That's what I do, there's no point in covering the ground in front of your area straight away when you'll back there when you respawn anyway and it'll probably get hit with inkstrike mid-game. I find it better to cover the middle ground/choke points/side paths as early as possible before inking the easy areas.
Okay so this might have been covered on an earlier page,
but me and my friend were going back and forth on whether or not walls count for points in turf wars.
Or does it depend? I've looked at the map and in some cases it shows up and some it doesn't. My thoughts were that anything that can be inked on goes for points but maybe that's not the case.
If you go to the online lobby, , I think you press "Y" and that allows you to explore (recon) the current online stages. No ememies and there is still a 3min limit. Great for getting to know the maps also
There will be no training tutorial but it's an alternative at least.
Man, I wish I knew that before. Does it work on both ranked and turf war? There are some little changes in ranked that keep throwing me off. Took me 3 battles to realize the walkway went further around in Arowa Mall. I found that out by getting shot in the face.
Someday we'll find it
