Topic: Splatoon - OT

What is up with the community this evening?

My first match there were players drawing hearts together in each other's bases.

@shinesprite: It's been fairly quiet on the forums too. I guess everyone is busy with finals/midterms/family/smash.

...and in my second match the other team decided to camp in the palm trees that are out of bounds in Arowana Mall.

From there, the rest of the matches were pretty much mixed bags of craziness.
Both teams would start a match traveling together in packs of 3. When the two teams would meet near the center of the map, they'd just loiter around together, sometimes pairing up with opposing players and hopping around the map as inklings, and other times laying beside each-other in squid form.
If I played along, they'd leave me alone, but if I started firing my blaster too much, they'd ambush me, and then go back to goofing off with my teammates. At some points, I had the whole other team chasing me (as a group) across the map, with my teammates either goofing off or joining in on the chase.

By the end of a match, I'd be the only one on my team to splat others, or get splatted. I'd have inked around 1400-1600p of territory, while the other players had covered < 350p. (One time we won and, with the 300p bonus, the bottom two had inked 0p and 1p).
The last odd thing, was that these players were all level 50s (I'm currently a lvl 40), many of which had perfect rolls on their gear for certain abilities.

What do you guys make of this?

Would anybody be surprised to see Splatoon 2 be a launch title for the NX? I was thinking that it's not a game that takes that long to develop and Nintendo would be crazy not to drop it in day one. Just imagine 6 on 6 or 8 on 8 online would be crazy and the stages would have to be bigger but it could work. If they do this I will have to get NX at launch, not too many games would make me spend that kinda cash so soon but this one.

My final project is due in 6 hours... once its done, I'm gonna play sooo much Splatoon!

How would the Splatoon player interact with the NX hardware?

Apparently above 3 millions world wide now as well. And Splatoon will probably surpass MK8 lifetime sales in Japan within 10 to 20 weeks.

Splatoon works well because its tight and squad orientated, not sure if increasing player count will really benefit things.

@jariw: Well since we know nothing about it in sure Nintendo won't let this franchise sit on the sidelines. They will make it work because they have to. You have to admit if it's there day one it will help with sales tremendously.

Not unless they manage to find a new angle. Nintendo doesn't like to do identical sequels. IMHO it's too soon for a real remake but perhaps they'll do a quick port with a couple of new maps & weapons?

8 Player Teams might be a fun option, but it should be an option, not reinventing the wheel.

I'm writing my paper on The Nutcracker. The story behind it's production is kinda boring, but the music is really good, and thankfully I'm on that part. I'm on track to finish it by the deadline

You kids and your dang classes

Is like the general skill in S rank getting worse or something? I'm not even talking about teammates but like pretty much everyone, I've never played so many baffling matches.

Ugh, that assignment was crap! He gave us way too many areas to cover within a word maximum of 750, I had to cut a bunch of material and leave part of the assignment out entirely; it hardly makes sense anymore. But I don't care cuz now I'm done! I'll go set up my Wii U!
