@Jazzer94: Depending on your weapon that may or may not be useful. One of my problems is with people who will take Charger weapons in Rainmaker and tower defense, pick a spot deep in our zone and rack up kills. That's great and all but unless you hit every hot eventually we'll lose because the rest of the team is playing offensive but are a man short essentially. You have to know your role
@wisdomsprince: I've learned I need to try and stop worrying about my rank. Maybe you have much less luck than me or something, but after dropping out of S and getting right back in with 4 straight wins, I realized that if rng kicks you down too far you're gonna start carrying games again, and it's actually been more fun than some of the current ranked matches I've played. dc's are definitely the worst though; that's just lame. It's too bad it's unavoidable.
That being said I totally agree they should have unranked ranked modes; turf wars isn't very interesting to me unless I'm trying out a new weapon.
@Kinan If you've reached your ranked cap, isn't that a good thing since you're vs'ing people of your skill level anyways, making the match not easy but not excessively difficult either?
Is the problem you two are having is that you're losing too much compared to how much you win, and that ruins the experience?
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@wisdomsprince: As far as I know and from what the developers have stated, rather than wins or loses, the matchmaking focusses on your playing style, maybe even your weapon choices and matches you with players who play similar to you.
Nintendo Dream starts off by asking how matchmaking works. Amano mentions that rather than focusing on levels, the game pairs players with similar playstyles in Turf War. Levels are more of “an indicator for how long the person has played the game.”
Since Splatoon matches users together based on how they play, Amano notes that those who tend to splat enemies are likely to play together. Likewise, those who concentrate on painting rather than splatting are more likely to get paired up.

That's exactly my experience, only I already realized this back when I lost my B- (or B) rank three times in a row.
But when you lose your rank, you usually are one of the best players in the following matches. So you can rank up again pretty quickly if you don't get too frustrated.
At some point I just accepted it as something normal in the natural flow of the game and of things in general. After all, life goes up and down, too.

Playing style match is turf war-only AFAIK. Ranked battles are rank matched.
(Personally, I think some people try way too hard to find way patterns to justify losses in Ranked Battles. Just enjoy the game at whatever rank you're at.)
@Kinan:
Your experience in the B Rank is very similar to my experience in the B Rank. I will clear out the entire other team, but then my teammates will just stand there do nothing. It is very frustrating!
Finally got the soundtrack and art book. The art book is awesome! Over 300 pages and has everything you could hope for. It's full of sketches, 2D and 3D art, graffiti, stages, all the weapons and gear, story board and comics. Obviously there ain't art of Splatfest themes that arrived after the book was released but the first few shirts are included. I also love how the soundtrack's song list is in English.
@Kinan: It goes without saying that a lot of what you need when progressing through the ranks is luck. I do remember my time in the B ranks not being pleasant either (with some good times mind you). That doesn't mean that everyone out there is a squidiot though... There are people out there with a similar ranking that are just as competent as you are, if not moreso, who legitimately have the same aim as you.
For me, when I was a B ranker, it was just a matter of finding them and trying my best to work with them but unfortunately if they stick around, they may end up turning from awesome allies to rather annoying enemies. Ranked in general requires an awful lot of patience (which I normally don't have...) and well-placed determination if you're aiming for the top...
...I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking of testing out Youtube's streaming with one of my games before X hits. Chances are it'll be Splatoon...anyways if it happens I would like to do a squad Ranked Battle. No clue how long I'll play...we'll see.
EDIT: Actually, thinking of doing it tonight...watching a movie right now, though. But yeah hoping some of you don't mind watching just to see how it's working for you.
