There is less than a month until release, and it still hasn't yet received a classification in Australia (which means that the boxes/cases haven't been printed yet!), and I suspect that a delay is imminent.

I hope this isn't the case (or that the game hasn't been banned in Australia for some stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid reason), but games are usually classified at least a couple of months in advance. This is highly unusual practice for a game that is mere weeks away from release.

I've been thinking about this but in a different way (I didn't know about the no classification until now). The really poor 2nd half of 2016 lineup (Color Splash and nothing else) combined with NX coming March 2017 instead of late 2016 made me think a June Wii U game being delayed to later on in the year (either a few months or to the holiday) to make the 2nd half of 2016 slightly better. Of course Mario & Sonic Olympics doesn't fit because the real 2016 Olympics is August so that leaves TMS#FE. Hence TMS#FE in August/September and Color Splash in November or vice versa.

EDIT: NoE's tweet seems to have confirmed a delay though potentially only by a week.

@Tsurii I watched the trailer until it started talking about the different versions as the special edition has been preordered for a while now

I'll probably get this in the next few months, but it won't be right away due to the misfortune of launching close to the release of Zero Time Dilemma, which will be the only game I care about until I obtain the platinum trophy for it.

I have a feeling we'd know by now if it were delayed or not coming. I don't know whether it's possible for Nintendo to request that titles not be displayed on the site before release, as a few titles have been leaked because of listings on the Aus classification site (not that it would be a matter for titles that have been officially announced, but it may just be a general policy they've implemented).

The announcement of the delay for Rayman Legends was made about a week, if not days prior its originally scheduled release, so there is a precedent. I've just checked out the latest classification decisions (they usually go up at around 5am AEST) and there is still no sign of it. Titles generally aren't withheld from the classification database and considering that this is an announced title, there is absolutely no point in withholding its classification from the public. Classification decisions usually go up online the next business day after they have been finalised.

I'm simply going by the evidence presented before us to hypothesise a delay. There is no rating yet. Without a rating, they can't print the covers (which includes the standard cases and the boxes for the Fortissmo edition). I'm sure that Nintendo will be quite sensible with the amount of copies that they ship to retailers given the extremely niche nature of the title (and the almost complete absence of marketing), but it is still odd.

Turns out it has been classified after all. The classification database is by no means "complete" as it also has a lot of missing entries (many of which are absent probably due to technical hiccoughs). Turns out that it has been classified M for "Supernatural themes, alcohol references and sexual references." Australia's M rating is similar to that of PEGI's 12 rating and ESRB's T rating, however, individual game's ratings can vary quite drastically between regions.

@sillygostly it's been classified here for a couple weeks now, i've been flirting with whether to preorder it or not for a while now and noticed the aus edition of the game and special edition go up. best price i've found for delivery is surprisingly high at $117. i'm a huge sucker for fire emblem and special editions and especially fire emblem special editions so hell yea!! don't just use an official classification website to get your information, always go by multiple sources, i've found those official sites aren't nearly as frequently updated as 'grassroots' places where people are always researching and finding info.

@martinskrtel37 it's better than in Canada though. For some reason the price is higher than it should be. ($120 CAD rather than $100. Fire Emblem Fates special edition for example was $100 CAD, both special editions were $80 US)
Currently $117 AUS is about $110 CAD and so at $120 CAD, it would be $126 AUS. I still ended up ore-ordering the game though.

As you probably expected, Persona 5 is not coming out until 2017, February to be more precise. This means Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE has a whole 7 months to itself.

@Ralizah Atlus games and Europe, hah that's a joke. I doubt even Persona 5 is coming out there but at least PS4 is region free with regards to discs so there is that option.

@Grumblevolcano Ah, sorry, forgot about that. I don't understand why Sega isn't taking up publishing slack for Europe.

@Grumblevolcano Èxcept of course when they region lock the disc itself, like with one of the Persona Arena games. Because that's how Atlus rolls!

You get a better box art, but our boxes are much sturdier made.

I hope the European artbook will be hardcover. Ours usually are!

Good lord. I thought I'd seen some stupidity in the recent trend of puritanism by Nintendo but this has the be silliest so far:

I've literally never seen a woman in the west dress like this. We appear to be getting the Iranian localisation.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

Spoony_Tech

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Japanese version of that picture. I normally don't care but the extent this is getting censored is ridiculous! I can totally understand an outfit or 2 but it seems like half the wardrobe is getting hacked. This is all on Nintendo as I'm sure Atlus doesn't want to be doing so much extra work to get this out.

Nintendo have been very quiet about this game. And when that happens, it's usually a worrying sign. They probably want to keep the true extent of how much this game has been censored from people so that pre orders aren't cancelled or turn people off.

Untitled

This is completely ridiculous. What was wrong with the Japanese version? I want to buy the Fortissimo Edition but can't buy it anywhere. Any time it has been available, it's been outrageously priced. I always buy the Collectors Editions of games but I really should forget about this game as so much about it has really p1$$ed me off.
