@whodatninja: I think that's the reason why they're called ''Limited Edition''...

@Octane: Look at other companies' LEs for video games. They don't go Out of Print mere hours, even MINUTES, after they've been up for pre-order. (It's not even called a "Limited Edition" here, it's called the Fortissimo Edition.)

This is a Nintendo problem.

@whodatninja: How was that image in Japan any worse then what they show of Cia on Hyrule Warriors?

I'm looking forward to playing a good, turn-based JRPG on my Wii U next month. Nothing I've read so far about changes/censorship of the game has turned me off from it. If I need cleavage or panties, I can watch HBO. It won't change the fun factor of this game for me.

If Hyrule Warriors was released now, there definitely would be censorship. I'm surprised it was left as is in the 3DS version!

@whodatninja: I think it's more a case of who's localizing. For Hyrule Warriors it was likely Koei Tecmo (the English translation is in the Japanese version) whereas for TMS#FE NoA was likely involved in some way.

Man wtf is wrong with Nintendo?

I'm so tired of this crap. So tired of it. It's the insult that offends me. It's the "you can't handle this" that offends me. I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt, I'm just done.

I think the censorship complaints aren't necessarily because those people want fanservice so much, as much as it is the principle.

Sure, "it's no big deal" if they censor out some swimsuits that only 5% of people care about, but if you don't try to stop them there, who's to say in the future they won't censor out some other potentially offensive content that 10% of the people want, then 20%, and so on?

History shows time & time again that when you give a government, corporation, etc. the power of control, they'll see how far they can abuse that power (and sometimes it's too late to change course). Today's censorship may not concern you, but tomorrow's very well may.

@JaxonH: Don't blame Nintendo, blame your country's culture. It is because your country says that is inappropriate for a certain age group that companies have to "censor" their products to reach that age group. Nintendo isn't saying you as a grown up can't handle it, your countries culture and your countries laws that make Nintendo have to change things to reach the same age group they reach in Japan. If a game is rated ok for 13 year olds in Japan, then Nintendo is going to want to reach that age group on other countries, so they have to make edits to reach that age group.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DefHalan:
My country's culture didn't cause Persona 4 to be censored like this- neither did it cause Stella Glow to be censored. My country's culture isnt going to see Star Ocean V censored like this.

But any game Nintendo slaps their logo on gets this treatment, and all of a sudden it's the culture? No.

EDIT
And keep in mind Fatal Frame- a game already rated M, and yet they still censored it regardless. Which goes to show the age rating had nothing to do with that decision. But even if it did, there's no way a bikini swimsuit is gonna cause #FE to be rated M. I understand some minor localization changes, but this is a clear pattern of games from Nintendo being overly bombarded by too much censorship.

I rarely complain about anyhing. So if you see even me complaining, there's most definitely a problem. I'm not expecting zero changes at all, but this... this is something else entirely.

I still find it odd that a higher profile game like Hyrule Warriors gets no censorship for Cia and a game that will be played by far less typical Nintendo fans does. I just don't understand their logic in that. And don't tell me they had no choice in the matter when the game came to the western market. I'm actually 100% surprised that they let Cia pass on that outfit.

@JaxonH: then I guess we just have a disagreement.

EDIT: Also, from a small amount of research I was bored enough to do. Persona 4 was rated B in Japan which is 12+. However it was rated M in the states 17+. Nintendo would be ok with that.

Also with Fatal Frame, they might have been worried about pushing the AO rating especially since Nintendo doesn't deal with a lot of Mayure titles, so they made a few small changes.

If our countries culture was more accepting of Japanese culture and Japanese ways then there wouldn't be a need to "censor" because it would be view at similarly. But that isn't how the world works and thus "censorships" happen, or you have a game rated for 12+ in one country release as 17+ in another, which probably isn't what Nintendo wants.

No, libertarian theologians just say that. Governments never went out of control: they started that way. Totalitarian governments weren't a slippery slope, but a violent conquest which brought on authoritarian rules which slowly improved in times of peace. Moreover, porn and sexuality are becoming more acceptable in nearly every walk of life, so your point is doubly moot.

If you want to ogle pixel bods then might I suggest you go in for the console that isn't marketed towards kids? None of this is even censorship. Look at it in your own silly libertarian terms; this is a private company doing what it wants with its private property. You're asking for intervention from the outside to coerce this private company to treat its property differently than it wishes.

Does setting her breasts aflame do anything to diminish the lewdness of her orgasmic moaning? I think not. Honestly; without this highly targeted video you would never have even noticed.
