So I just found this video of someone trying to sync his Wii U Pro Controller with his Wii and the Wii was actually reacting to it, which basically means that the Wii and hopefully the Wii mode of the Wii U could be able to recognize the Pro Controller where there to be a patch that enables it. I think it would be great if Nintendo would release a patch for it to be possible on the Wii U since Wii games graphics are much better on the U and the Gamecube controllers can't be used on it.
What would you guys think of an update for MK Wii and SSB Brawl to be able to play these games with a Pro Controller? Wouldn't it help cope with the wait for the next Smash and Mario Kart? And wouldn't it actually help Nintendo move more Pro Controllers on the market? I honestly think it would be awesome and an easy move to implement.
Meh. I already got used to playing Brawl with a classic controller pro. I used to play Brawl with GCN controllers RELIGIOUSLY pretty much, and refused any other controller(especially Wii remote solo or with nunchuck). Ever since I transferred though, I just grew to like the classic controller pro just as much for the game. I'm guessing all the Wii remote control schemes, plus Pro will be in the new one. Obviously GCN controllers won't be used for the new Smash, so I just figured might as well.
Wouldn't it be cool if they updated the Wii (not happening) to work with the pro controller, then you could use it as a classic controller/gamecube controller hybrid? You could use it as a classic controller in wii games and a Gamecube controller with Gamecube games (that would probably be harder to do since you would need some way to assign the controller to a port, but there's no Wii menu with Gamecube games)...that would be awesome
Of course Nintendo's never going to do that, but still...

Yeah, that's kinda of what I'm talking about but I wouldn't push it that far since, as you've put it, Nintendo would never do that. But then I'm quite sure even my idea is too far off because Nintendo have so many other things to do right now than looking back...
But simply put, it would just be nice if in Wii mode for the Wii U, the Wii U Pro Controller could replace the Gamecube controller for all GC-controller-enabled games. A would be A, B would be B, X for X, Y for Y and so on, with the C-stick being the right stick and Z being ZR (and ZL).
I wonder if Nintendo made the Wii mode on the Wii U able to be updated or if it's just going to stay the way it is now throughout the Wii U's lifespan.
I think that would be awesome. I also think that it should have been like that from the start. It sucks having to use your dongle Classic Controller/Pro to play Wii Virtual Console games, when there's a perfectly good wireless Pro Controller available.
Ah right, that's because Nintendo wants us to buy our Virtual Console games again if we want to use it...
But I do think that an update to use the Pro for Wii games would be awesome, but will never happen.

Yeah, that would be really awesome! I have a pro controller but it's just been sitting there, I wish there was something I could use it with!
The only thing that would be awkward is that the A button on the gamecube controller is closer to where B is on the pro controller, the B on gamecube is closer to Y on the pro controller, Y on gamecube is closer to X on the pro controller, and Y on gamecube is closer to A on the pro controller
I wish they would make the layout like that (I know it probably won't happen though, because of how they set up the classic controller on brawl), but I think it would feel a little bit more natural if they set it up like that
While that is true, most Gamecube games didn't really use the analog portion of the triggers, just the digital clicking part
The only ones that comes to mind off the top of my head are Super Mario Sunshine and Super Smash Bros. Melee, but for the most part I always held R all the way down anyway
Pro controller can't do all the functions of a GCN controller, sadly, as GCN shoulder buttons are analog. Pro controller buttons are all digital.
True that, but at the same time there isn't any single Wii game that uses those analog buttons, is there? If so Wiimote and Classic Controller players would be disadvantaged.
