Thanks for that brilliant analysis. A holiday Mario release, releasing with no 1st party competition on a console with around 13M+ owners "will sell a couple of hundred thousand IF that".

@jariw It may not be holiday release though. Nintendo may want Color Splash out of the way before the NX reveal.

That will not happen, unless the NX reveal is in January 2017.

@jariw Color Splash can still be the August/September game (and that's when I think it'll be).

This game will most likely be a million seller by default. The uneducated will pick this game up simply because Mario is on the cover. Heck, I'm educated and ill still get it. Maybe not full price but still.

@Spoony_Tech Well if Color Splash really is the only new game in the 2nd half of 2016 it's clear Nintendo's focus will be on 3DS (Sun/Moon) and convincing people to buy NX.

For some reason I doubt they will push the NX till February of next year. Regardless of NX or not they still want as many sales for Wii U games and systems as they can get before the NX hits next year. Unless they have an ace up their sleeves then this will be the only viable game to market.

Well, technically it isn't the only game in the west during the 2nd half.
But even if Color Splash really would be the only new game in the 2nd half year, it's clear Nintendo will focus on that very game and sell as many copies as they can. Otherwise it would be moved to NX like other titles have. Releasing it during the sales-wise slow summer months with no prior marketing and no E3 presence is not going to happen. Everybody knows that NX is approaching and around what time it will arrive, so that doesn't affect anything regarding Color Splash.

Good! Eager to see it! They had 4 years to fix Sticker Star problems, let's see what they have done!

Well, it does look gorgeous as far as the papercraft graphics go.

You can defeat enemies, collect their cards and use them as your partner in battle.
