Topic: Nintendo's Quality Still Means Something

For me it has always been about the tight responsive controls, level design and the new things that you don't get elsewhere. I'm getting a bit fed up with the lack of online games (not the lack of online in games that don't need it) but there's already been a load of 1st party games you wouldn't get on other systems whereas Sony and MS exclusives are normally just good, polished versions of the same games everyone else makes.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

Well, the bug in Pokemon X / Y is pretty bad. (If you don't have the internetz to patch it)

If I remember Other M had a game breaking glitch too. Something about a door that wouldn't open if you saved before a boss or something.

Dont forget the Goron glitch in Skyward Sword Nintendo had to release an entire application to fix...

Did anyone actually run into that glitch during the Song of the Hero quest? I never ran into it because I took what I considered to be the logical order and went to Faron Woods first.

EDIT: As for releasing a dedicated application to fix it, well, that was the only way Nintendo could fix it. Either that, or send your save data to Nintendo Customer Service just like Other M.

Nintendo is the best developer in the world, they continually put out quality titles at a pace that nobody else can match.

I think this is proof that Nintendo has the least bugs in their games, simply because people are naming exact bugs.

You can only name exact bugs in exact games because there's few enough so that each one becomes memorable. Turn to other games and it's insanely hard to remember any of the individual bugs, because there's either too many, or because the games get patched so many times you don't know what's still a bug and what's not!

i look at the quality as the subject of how many times i will play the game all the way through, alot of companies can't compete with nintendo's replayability. as for bugs and glitches every game has them, ask the developers. just most reputable gaming companies know how to keep a good secret.

I've never had to buy protection warranty for any of their products because their devices are solid!

i agree. i like this statement from nintendo in terms of good taste "there will never be a Grand Theft Auto on any of our systems". thats one reason i stick with them.

Hmm. I agree totally. But I think they should expand or get third parties. We don't want them rushing games now, do we?

How old is that quote and who made it? GTA: China Town Wars was on the DS. GTA as a series is is not that bad and is quite fun, Saints Row on the other hand smh.

I remember hearing about that the 2nd time I played through it. Without reading online how the glitch happened, I saved right before the song of the hero quest began. I spent a few days going through the quest multiple times trying to get the glitch. I think the 4th time of completing the quest, I got bored of it and decided, after reading how the glitch happens, the only way to get the glitch would be either extreme misfortune or to read how it happens and then do that exact scenario.

I agree.

I've been pretty critical of Nintendo and how they've dealt with the Wii U but I have been very pleased with the quality of their 1st and 2nd part games. I'm glad they've been able to continue their trend of high quality games since SO MANY Japanese companies not only had issues with transitioning to HD last gen, but the quality of their games took a huge hit as well.

It seems its taking them longer to put out games since they're adjusting to HD development as well, but I dont mind the wait as long as its worth it. I'm actually pretty excited for the lineup of games they have coming to the Wii U in 2014.

I enjoy my Wii U and 3DS but I gotta say... ever since I got my Wii U.. I hardly play my 3DS anymore. Its strange but its true.

Its been the opposite for me.

The 3DS' 2013 lineup was absolutely insane and it seems like the lineup this year is going to be great as well. I think a strong argument can be made that Nintendo's 1st party handheld games this gen have been much better than last gen too.

Four more months until Bayonetta 2.

September 28, 2013 was the last news I heard about Nintendo never releasing GTA on a console. It didn't mention handheld systems. I'ts just my personal opinion dislike of that game. I understand alot of people like it and it sells really well. Nintendo has never let me down in quality and it's standard of keeping their games pretty clean.

Yeah, well, my patronage still means something. So it's a good thing they're still putting in the quality. Lol

is that question for me? absolutely no rushing and we really need third party support. I particularly want sports titles and some more first-person shooters with online multiplayer. How about something like plants vs zombies or team fortress to kick it off?

To add to that, where is Nintendo's sports division? I would love to see NBA Courtside, a Slugfest, and a Japanese wrestling sim.

The latest Nintendo games I can think of that weren't perfect on release (and even then, they were still quite playable) are Mario Kart 7, Skyward Sword, and Pokémon X/Y because of the Maka Wuhu glitch and save glitches respectively.

I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
