Cool, they used the Pac-Land sprites for Pac-Man. Like how Mega Man looks too.
I imagine they used, or took notes from, the Game Gear sprites for Sonic.

I believe you can edit stages you download, but you can't reupload it.

Still, I wouldn't at all be upset if we never get another "New SMB" again. Especially if Super Mario Maker exists on future Nintendo platforms both portable and not.

I love 2d and really hope there are more. I could see them releasing dlc updates to mario maker that are full games. It would be cool if they did that because it would mean getting new official levels of the older level types. Also i would like to see them make it so that after you beat the levels you are able to edit them and switch between the systems, but you can only do that if you beat it first.

This game looks pretty awesome but I am curious as to why it seems that whenever Mario gets a skin like Peach or Link, it seems like they can't get bigger. They're always small versions of the characters. Does anyone know about that?

That bothers me a bit as well. They should have taken advantage of Mario's two sizes to have some character's be Super Mario's aize when it makes sense, for example, Marth.

@NintyMan: It could be real with the key point being that new Hyrule Warriors content is not over yet thanks to the E3 reveal of Legends for 3DS. Maybe there'll be an amiibo for every playable character in that game including the confirmed Tetra and King of Red Lions as well as whatever extra characters make it into the 3DS version (which of course transfer over to the Wii U version).

@NintyMan - The Mystery Mushroom costumes can be unlocked without the need of an amiibo so maybe there are a few non-amiibo costumes in the game. Yeah, it's possible but like any other rumour, I question how the poster got/made that screenshot. I will take this with salt.

They're essentially a power-up, that's why they can't get bigger. If you play as any other character and get hurt, you'll turn back into Mario.

So, does anyone know about the content released day 1? Cause I read this on Mario Wikia:

"The game will start with only one row of course elements, as the game will feature a daily unlocking system, giving players a set of new course elements and themes for the next day over a set of nine days, so long as they spend time on using the tools they have. From Day 7, players can also add sound effects to their courses, using the SFX frog (which uses the frog icon from Mario Paint). These effects will happen when Mario walks over them in the play mode, with some effects generating visuals. Players can even record their own sound effects and add them to the game."

I don't really understand the wording and the daily updates. So is every stage going to take 9 days to make. I'm confused. Everything should be unlocked from the start or am I understand this wrong?
