This and smash is why i bought a wii u instead of other console, nothing compares to the amount of time i've put in mkwii/ssbb with my girlfriend, my sister, my friends and family.

About the player count, i think it hints at 5p instead of 4p-

They should make the gamepad splitscreen, too. Eight players!

I'll leave it to someone else to figure out how that would be controlled.

That could work theoretically, but a lot of visual effects would have to be sacrificed for the game to run smoothly

The Wii U COULD have eight controllers connected to it in theory (7 bluetooth controllers and the gamepad), but there would have to be an update for it
The PS3 allowed 7 controllers to be connected, but only a handful of games ever made use of it and the multiplayer for those games weren't very good

If only Nintendo would bring back LAN!!! I played a huge game of Mario Kart:DD with two Gamecubes at school about two years ago...most fun I've ever had with Mario Kart. We couldn't do that with Mario Kart Wii since there was a school filter blocking necessary ports for Nintendo Wi-Fi to work. LAN would fix this issue...but I doubt it will be included in any Wii U games

Yea, we used to do that at my apartment in college. MKDS was a little simpler to do for big racing parties.

If you have a good internet connection, presumably you could just play online now, even if right next to each other, making a LAN device for an even more niche market.

It makes me so mad that the blue shell bundle is UK only I would love to buy that.

^Isn't the Blue Shell limited edition for all of Europe? And I have a feeling it'll be announced for NA sooner or later.

It's on here. Like a week ago or two the part with the custom karts wasn't there,... or was I just blind? :3

I don't see where it says custom karts.

Returning features include 12-player online play*, gliders, underwater racing, motorbikes, and custom karts.

I never even knew this was possible now I'm wondering if it will be in MK8.

I don't think its in MK7 and its not in any other one, seems like something that is put in on a whim.

i hope they do something about the shortcut glitches.

They fixed major exploits in MK7 so they'll probably do the same if anything turns up here.

Agreed, I hope the tanooki tail doesn't return as well.

@Booboos35 Seconed. POW block aside I personally thought the Tanooki Tail was the worst MK power up ever made.
