Topic: Mario Kart 8 - OT

I'm more surprised Nintendo didn't release a update for a good Battle Mode in this game. I guess Mario Kart NX will have that.

Mario Kart is one of those games that will always have a lot of people playing online, so I wouldn't worry. Glad you're enjoying it, it is a really fun game!

I'm playing 150cc with all the DLC. I ran across two sets of people twice. The first time I was kicked out due to a connection error, when I came back, 2 of the people from that group were in the new group. Then the next time I left, went to post in the Miiverse, came back to a new group and there was a guy in there from the original room. There wasn't anything suspicious about them.

I thought they said they might do another wave of dlc? they moved on but didnt they actually say it>

I'm hoping for a new DLC set, but the lack of information makes me pretty sure they've moved on. Probably to Smash Bros and Splatoon.

This game is dead. Mario Kart Wii didn't take so long to die, but I think Mario Kart 7 died faster

@las_cadenas: I don't think so. I've been playing since yesterday and the userbase just seem to have diminished a little, mostly at early morning.

And there's something strange, I've been playing the same ~10 tracks since yestarday. Is there some kind of algorithm that I'm missing?

just because you don't play it doesn't make it dead. not even mario kart 64 is dead.

So, I played a bit of Mario Kart 8, the other day. It wasn't as laggy, so I was able to the the firehop. I didn't get 1st place, but at least I was in 4th place, instead of last and practically disconnected. The people in 2nd and 3rd place weren't even firehopping at all, so that should tell you that no one got a blue shell to even out the race. Oh well.

The firehopper that was winning ended up getting 6th place(and lower places), because I was able to catch up far enough for items to affect them, because otherwise, 2-3 blue shells have to happen if no one else is firehopping to catch up.

That's all I know about how it affects public online matches.

Ok, let's wait for Nintendo Account, but almost everything now screams that Mario Kart 8 development ended with version 4.1...

Okay, this is everyone who said they would like to play Mario Kart. I would like to give a little heads up about the time so you guys can plan around it if you'd like. Let's try to have the awesome Mario Kart 8 session on Saturday! Would starting at 9:00 a.m. MST work?

Even if DLC ended, there is a sizable about of content in the game if you get the DLC packs, which are worth it. Birdo, Diddy and Junior would be have been nice but there is a lot of characters.
