I still like the idea of the next ND showing iwata buying an apple

Personally I think it may be Iwata hinting at another Yoshis Story game, I mean in that game you collect fruit right?? Also whoever mentioned that debug mode on the Wii U, well that mentioned yoshi, so I have a hunch it's yoshi-related.

A new IP. In the same way that Pikmin grew out of Miyamoto enjoying gardening he has now started growing some fruit trees in his backyard. BAM! New IP based around fruit.

Y is for YELLOW!
O is for ORANGE
S is for SCARLET (Strawberry Colour.)
H is for HOT PINK (Inside a watermelon.)
I is for INDIGO (Blueberry looks similarish.)
If we get a strawberry for our next fruit, YOSHI Fruit Adventure might as well get confirmed already...
I'd like to clarify, these aren't "subliminal messages." There's nothing subliminal about obviously holding a fruit. These are directed at the conscious, not the subconscious.
I'd say there's definitely something to it, but I can't see it being about a new Yoshi game. It seems like too much effort put into it for it to just be for a Yoshi game. A new Earthbound or Smash Bros. would be a big deal. But Yoshi? Sure, there's many fans that would love it, but it still doesn't seem like enough to warrant all the effort being put into this.
What effort? Spending about 50p total on fruit to slowly hint at a game?
@DudeSean A new Yoshi's Island would certainly be a big deal to me and I'm sure to mostly everyone who's played it on the SNES.Its 1 of the greatest games ever made IMO and with it being released towards the end of the SNES life and never being on VC many people have never had the chance to play it.The GBA version was good which is where I originally played it but just recently finished the SNES version and had the most fun I've had with a game in a long time.Either a HD remake or preferably a true sequel would make me a very happy man indeed.Lets hope its not a sequel to Yoshi 64.
@OorWullie I think he's talking about why Nintendo would continue a series that really didn't have the same kind of sales numbers or fan demand that their other properties have had. Having been on this site for a while, which is chock-full of Nintendo fans, I can say that there isn't much demand for a new Yoshi game. I loved Yoshi's Island, but I don't really care if Nintendo gives us a sequel or not.
Still, after seeing the Yoshi's Island thing in the debug screen, plus all of the fruit, there's a good chance that something's coming.
Best thread ever

Thats true about the lack of demand which is quite sad actually as its 1 of Miyamoto' masterpieces and better than Mario World I feel.It would be nice just to have a huge creative platformer from Nintendo that isn't Mario and doesn't play safe, although saying that a new IP 2D epic platformer would be better but chances of that from Nintendo are slim.
Maybe it's not a Yoshis island game but a yoshi story sequel, the art work would look great on wiiu

I'd have to say that the fruit theory of a new Yoshi game stalls when we reach the letter H.
However, should the next fruit be any of the following, then hush my mouth.
Hog plum FTW.
