There are a lot of Indie Titles on Smartphones, Tablets and Ouya most of them are made for quick cash.
You'll be seeing more of it soon on the Wii U.
Developing on the Wii U still requires more than developing on Smartphones, Tablets, or Ouya. Anyone can develop for Smartphones, Tablets, or Ouya while Nintendo requires your company and your game to pass qualifications. With that latest tool that Nintendo released to make it easier to port Smartphones, Tablets, or Ouya games does not mean that anyone can now develop for Wii U.

Have you ever tried playing games on smartphones? Yes there's lots of shovelware particularly on Android but the huge number of games (over a thousand) on smartphone game library there's also lots of games that are truly quality games. It's more than what you'll get on any game console library in existence. That's why mobile gaming took a huge piece of the entire game market sales since 2011. For Nintendo to succeed, then it will have to get a free flow of mobile games on its game library. It will get drown on the huge numbers of games coming on the mobile market (that includes shovelware) if it won't allow free flow of mobile games on it's game library.
As I said before - You'll be seeing more of it soon on the Wii U.
More what? Indie games? Yes you will. More Smartphone games? Yes. More games that are made in a rush to make a quick buck? Nope.
I don't know about that. Gummy Bears is a recent example. It's a little alarming that it was released over a year ago as WiiWare, trashed with problems pointed out, and now the same game recently released to e-shop, trashed with problems pointed out. That may be as quick a buck as you can get. I don't see WiiUware being different. In the end, a mixed bag, like any other ware system.

Umm no. Nintendo will not need all those Smartphone games to succeed, in fact if the console market was more like the Smartphone game martket it would be... wait isn't that why the Video Game Industry crashed in 1983?
@Midnight3DS
Every system gets the occasional absolute garbage game.

I agree, there's always shovelware no matter what platform it is. Just because it's the Wii U doesn't mean there's no shovelware. It will have more & will continue to have more if it'll take some mobile games on its game library. It will also have quality games coming from mobile games. It's vice versa. The thing is - it's going to get reduced to some people as a game console primarily for smartphone quality games. Look at the Wii U eShop now, it's getting inundated with Virtual Console games.

If that's what you think then tell that to Nintendo before it's too late. They already sent several Wii U dev kits to mobile game developers.
I am not saying the Wii U will not get any shovelware. I don't think the Wii U has become as open of a platform as the Smartphone market is, then you add in Nintendo's qualifications in order to release games on their system and you have evidence that the Wii U will not get a lot of the shovelware that Smartphones have.

It is not a bad idea to get some of the better Smartphone Devs working on Wii U, ports or original content. I am saying they don't need to allow for ALL Smartphone games to be ported for success.

Agreed EA has fallen from its days of greatness in the 90's and early 00's, sure it won't be good for the industry if they go under, but it certainly won't crash the industry either.
Ok, can I elaborate because I need to state this again. If you are implying I should care about the success or failures early on for a console, you are an insult to my intelligence. It makes no difference at this point. Yes, it is possible Nintendo can survive without EA, but its a non-issue because of Nintendo. Nintendo will fail if Nintendo fails, not because of a single publisher. Yes, EA not supporting the system is a very bad sign but...duh. That's a given. But otherwise, if they don't fail and...y'know, succeed, EA will then put games on the console to make money. The end. There is no discussion to be had beyond this.
Like seriously, were people living under a rock until last year? This is like being surprised that Scary Movie V isn't funny, I don't know how anyone who pays any attention to gaming in the past...decade, could find any of this to be anything beyond incredibly familiar.
That being said, I fully realize my posts about 3DS' first year make this a bit hypocritical. But even though I feel that's a bit different (DS wasn't abandoned for forever and 3DS doesn't have super expensive HD graphics for example), I do think in retrospect that I was dumb and overreacted to that. Which is why I think this is so idiotic.
Yep. Nintendo not only has dozens of franchises, but it's got hundreds of billion of yen in the bank. Nintendo can survive for several dozen years at an operating loss and still be able to makes games.

I've played minimal to none EA games in the past 8-9 years, barring that one time Mirror's Edge, Dead Space and Henry Hatsworth came out within a few months of each other. So yes. That isn't actually a "screw you EA" statement, I just haven't played much from EA after 2003/4.
Oh and Mass Effect 2. Obviously, forgot about that somehow.
