So they take American credit cards on the Japanese Wii U? Anyone got a link for a cheap harddrive.

Hopefully, Someone with a Wii U Japanese can put some insight on this for me. Don't want to purchase console and can't buy the game. Have to be absolutely sure. Plus it's only 200$$$. Glad I learned Japanese.

There's a Japanese Xenoblade X Wii U bundle coming out. Might want to take a look at that if you don't already have a Japanese Wii U.

1. Yes. You can play Japanese games on Japanese Wii U. The console is region locked via disc and eshop, but it is totally IP free.

2. You cannot use a America credit card on Japanese eshop. Japanese eshop only accept japanese credit card and the eshop prepaid card. You can get these in any japanese game store or play asia as pointed by Tasuki.

Are you sure about that ? I was of the impression the only eshop where there is a restriction like that is the US one where it is required to use a card tied to a US bank.

I have a Japanese New Nintendo 3DS and I'm pretty sure I was able to use an American credit card on its eShop... It's been a while though so I may be wrong.

Maybe I got it mixed up with the PSN.
