I hope they do, because then Nintendo will have more of a reason to put the sought after games on the eShop. I wouldn't doubt Itoi knows that Earthbound goes for $80+ on eBay.

1. thats not how nintendo thinks lol
2. if you come across an eb cart for 80$ you should get it

I'm gonna get Earthbound for $8 on Wii U VC this year, so why would I buy the $80+ cart? The Wii U VC version is in HD and a clearer digital format overall, plus I still get 10% back from Deluxe Digital Promotion and can play on the GamePad.

You should buy the $80 cart because you could sell it for at least double on eBay.

I sold a copy a few years ago(back when it was $80). I don't want to buy it again, and I didn't even sell it for that much, because I sold part of my collection for $600 at local discount to some guy on Craigslist that was going to play them, and not resell them.
Then I sold the consoles and other stuff(that guy only wanted the games) for around $400 equaling out to a $1000.
I ended up buying a used Xbox 360 and 3DS with the money with a ton of NEW games.
I like the classics as much as the next person, but I'm not gonna search out stuff I don't want just to make a quick extra buck.

Ya, but who's to say I got $80 to begin with? There is basically no chance to see this game under $100, so 'if' automatically jumps down to 0%(at least online). The only way I would buy the cartridge, is if it was actual value, not crazy 'look, I got a game you want, how's $100, this is your only chance'. I don't want to be a hypocrite, and sell a game for 20 times what it's worth, when I dislike when people do that in the first place.
If I see an Earthbound cart for $10, I swear I'll sell it for the price I paid. I will merely be passing it on, not overcharging.

Do you have any idea what "value" means? Also, what makes you think it's worth $5?

If I found one for $10, I'd sell it right away for $50, because I would PROFIT from that deal.

Meanwhile some of us could get $100 from selling the real carts to dedicated collectors. I can buy the VC version AND have $92 left.

Fine then. I'll charge $1 million. Then no one will ever buy it, and if someone does, I'll have $1 million dollars. I'll still have $999,999,992 left after buying the VC version.

No offense, but you might want to recheck your math

Nope. A billion is the new million.

Get rid of the first three nines, unless you meant to say a billion.

Ya, I messed up what I meant to say. I'm actually really good at math. I can do math in my head faster a math teacher with a calculator, which is why I don't care about school.
Sorry for the consfusion everyone. $1 million, $1 billion, what's the difference? When I ask what's the difference, tell me something that matters. 'Uhhh, $1 billion is more'. No s***.
I'm so good at math, that some times I count 1000 times faster, and end up counting to the wrong number.

Did you know that America is debt of upwards to $17 trillion? None of us in America have money. Money might as well be part of the 10 commandments, because it's up there in moral value. I'll sell the EB cartridge for $1 billion, then donate it to Africa, and they'll thank me with diamonds.
And you guys thought I didn't know math. Pfft.

You want to sell a game worth $100 for $10. The numbers speak for itself

I'm sorry, but how does being wrong make you good at math?

I over calculated my count. That means for every time I counted, it made 1000x more difference. I was counting 1000x1. Every time I counted to 1, it was actually 1000.
Nah, I'm just kidding. I just worded it wrong... I really would probably just give the EB cart away. I was just trying to make a point.
How many Earthbound cartridges are there? How ever many there are, times the value of what people give them sealed in box(minus the strategy guide, but the game is still sealed), is how much money Nintendo will probably get for selling it on the VC.
