So, way back when (actually just about three or four years ago, I suppose lol) I bought a skin for my Gamecube. It was a Super Smash Bros. Melee skin, and it had all the characters from the game in it. However, it also had one character that wasn't in the game: Diddy Kong. Does anyone know why he was on this skin even though he wasn't in the game? Did Nintendo intend to include him and have to cut him out for some reason? Did the manufacturer of the skin simply not pay enough attention and make a mistake? Was this a foreshadowing of Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Will giant pizzas take over Mars? lol If anyone knows anything about this, I would be very interested in knowing why Diddy Kong was on this skin even though he wasn't in the game. Thanks and God bless you guys!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!

Isn't that how you were supposed to unlock Sonic and Tails too? lol Never trust video game magazines on April Fools Day (and ESPECIALLY NEVER trust websites on April Fool's Day!!!! lol).

He actually was included in Melee. You have to KO 30 people in Cruel Melee in order to unlock him.
Then do a backflip IRL, hit RRLZ. You must execute these steps within 5 seconds of the 30th KO. You must also not die in Cruel Melee during this time. Now hit Start and quit the Cruel Melee. Now enter Versus Mode. Change the item options so that only Mr. Saturns are enabled. Do a 57-stock match vs. the computer at the highest difficulty. Defeat the computer with a final stock count of 43 (i.e. die 14 times). Exactly 5 of your deaths must be suicides.
Diddy Kong was intended to be in Smash Bros. Melee, but his agent is Drew Rosenhaus who persauded Diddy Kong to hold out for more money and a new contract which apparently he got before Brawl.
