Hello,

I just bought a Nintendo 64, everything works fine, the only problem is that it does not work properly on my television. I put the yellow component in the input labeled Y under video on my TV. I put the red and white components under the audio inputs labeled R and L. With this setup I get the game on the screen on my TV, but it's in black/white and it has got strange lines through it. I have a modern Samsung TV, so I think the N64 does not work on these TV's nowadays. Can anyone help me out?

I think you're confusing component (3 video cables, 2 audio) with composite (1 video, 2 audio). Your TV takes the former as input, whereas your N64 outputs the latter.

If you can't locate a composite input on your TV (that is, a yellow slot, a red slot, and a white slot), I'd suggest a composite-to-SCART (if your TV takes SCART) or a composite-to-HDMI adapter, which can be picked up on Amazon or eBay.

At least 2'8".

Easiest, cheapest and best solution to your problem is to pick up a CRT TV. You can pick one up for less then $20 at a garage sale or thrift store.
