Who has any of these? I recently purchased* MAT 2 (GCN) for Xenophobe, which I remember playing a lot at the movie theater arcade while I was in high school. Anyone have a favorite title?

*Play 'N Trade is my new favorite used video game store.

Currently playing: Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA), Infinite Space (NDS)

Narc rules! I also enjoyed MK 2 and 3 of course. Timber is quite addictive as well. Note that the main lumberjack looks a heck of a lot like Mario. Total Carnage is hilarious fun too. The rest is a little spotty, but its well worth the price for all those classic games. I'd also highly recommend Capcom Classics 1 and 2, Taito Legends 1 and 2, SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1, and of course the first Midway Treasures. Enjoy!

I have MAT 1 for GCN. Two words: Robotron 2084.

I've got the first two (I reviewed them after all) and whilst I think the Gamecube controller is crap for playing many of these due to the rubbish d-pad and springy shoulder buttons using an adapter with the Classic Controller Pro makes it a bit more tolerable (though the analogue thumbstick is really really crap for playing Defender -- just too slow, so I have to use the d-pad which feels wrong.).

Toss up between Defender and Robotron: 2084 on the first compilation, though I enjoy most of the games. The crappy Wizard of Wor port on Treasures 2 is a big disappointment, I have to say as it's one of my favourite Midway games.

I can't come up with a single favorite title because there are so many great ones among the 3 discs. Here are some that I enjoy
1. MK 2 and MK 3
2. Pit Fighter
3. Toobin
4. 720
5. Robotron
6. Super Sprint
7. Super Off Road
8. Spy Hunter
9. Xybots
10. Road Blasters

I just bought a brand new copy of Midway Arcade Treasure for Xbox. Can't wait to dig in to some of these old titles again.

I have the first one for the Xbox. I hate how it's not compatible with the 360. Smash TV is my favorite game on it.

I always new Smash TV was inspired by the movie Running Man, and after watching the developers video they confirmed what I already knew.

Its hard to believe that one of the developers can beat the game on 1 credit! Are you kidding me that seems impossible!

I only have the first one. Great collection, one of the best I've ever bought. Marble Madness and Smash TV FTW!

I'm thinking of getting the second one someday for Rampage: World Tour. I don't remember playing it, but I remember seeing the arcade cabinet at some bar/restaurant when I was a little kid, and thought it looked like the coolest game ever.

Rampage World Tour is also on Rampage Ultimate Destruction, so that's another possibility if you're only interested in that game.

The first two are great. The third, not so much. If focuses on racing games and the lack of variety really limits it.

The game Kozmik Krooz'r in Midway Arcade Treasures 2 has a spaceship (constantly rotating) at the top of the screen, which the original arcade game didn't. While at first I thought it unnecessary, it does help in hinting you when the entrance ray appears; it also gives much more atmosphere. Kozmik Krooz'r ain't so bad a sequel to Wacko. And no, I don't believe it to be vice versa (Wacko was created first, iirc).
Root Beer Tapper from Midway Arcade Treasures is a fun time. I don't mind that it's the kid version of the original Tapper (I played both). The gameplay's still intact, and the idle animations are still there at the end of each stage.
Oh, and who doesn't love Hydro Thunder from Midway Arcade Treasures 3?? It is arcade racing bliss, and quite addicting sometimes. It's fun to play this game in the arcades as well.
And let's not forget Paperboy. It's a memorable game, and so is Marble Madness (even though it's hard).

I found 2 to be my least favorite, while 1 & 3 I favored most. Still, all good compilations.

We've been blessed by a bevy of retro games on the Switch. Megaman Legacy 1, 2 and X 1, and 2. Capcom Beatemup Bundle, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary, Namco Arcade Pac, SNK 40th Anniversary, Sega Genesis/Megadrive collection, Atari Flashback Classics, NES Online, and Arcade Archives.
There is a hole in our libraries and it can only be filles with Midway Arcade classics from WB Games. I hope they see this oppurtunity for $ and recognition. Gamers of today need Defender, Stargate, Joust 1, 2, Gauntlet 1, II, Legends, Sinistar, Spy Hunter, Rampage, Rampage World Tour, Bubbles, Marble Madness, Robotron 2084, Smash TV, Tapper, Timber, Rampart, Mortal Kombat 1, 2, 3, Rush 2049, Cruisn USA, World, and Exotica and the umpteen others I've forgotten. I can only hope these arcade games can come to Switch, to have them on the go and in the limelight again.
Anyone else chomping at the bit hoping these come to Switch?

@Illusion First of don't necropost it's bad for you and very rude

Second of all I doubt we will see a release of that particular version. When Midway closed it's assets were sold off to several entities. MK went to Netherrealm studios some stuff like Rampage went to WB an others I don't remember.

The IPs WB got such as Rampage they have said that they arent interested in making games with them but using them to make movies which is where the movie Rampage came about. So yeah more then likely this wouldn't happen

@Tasuki apologies. I've seen many others get in trouble for opening a new thread when one already existed. In the future I'll just keep to myself if a forum topic isn't already in existence and used regularly.
