Yeah, probably late to this, but get a SNES. The games are getting expensive now, but the SNES has an amazing library that has aged well. Of course there are the Mario games. DKC trilogy is my favorite on the system. Tons of good RPGs (these are getting pretty expensive). Great Co-op games like zombies ate my neighbors, Super Bomberman and Turtles in Time. Puzzle games like Kirby's Avalanche. One of the best sports titles of all time as well. NBA Jam TE (OK maybe not of all time, but a heck of a fun game). Some good budget games to start out a collection to get a few games on the shelf would be claymates(platformer with weird save system), Pilotwings, F-Zero, StarFox, Beavis and Butthead and Final Fantasty Mystic Quest can all be had for under $20 in the states. I started my SNES collection a few years ago, right before collecting got expensive. I could easily double what I paid for the games. Not going too of course. If you have a DS or Wii you should start getting a big collection of those games as they are still cheap. Who knows maybe some of them will be worth something.
