Not looking to turn this into a 360-bash thread, but the only system i've had crap out on me is my 360. Or rather, 2 of my 360s. For the record, each time, M$ replaced my console at no charge and never even asked about my warranty, and these were both during that first year after release. Oh, just remembered, a 3rd 360 crapped out on me -- or at least the disc drive has serious read problems and frequently will not recognize discs (or think that they're DVDs). I have a friend's spare 360 now, which has consistently worked fine.

I have never had a Nintendo system fail on me. I still have my 24-year old NES (original, classic design), and it still works perfectly. The closest thing i've had to a Ninty system problem has been an occasional dead pixel on a couple original Game Boys over the years.

My first N64 died on me a few years ago, after one too many all-night multiplayer sessions on No Mercy.

It's between SNES and N64 for me.

Never played a system to death (I am really OCD about my stuff, fingerprints set me off lol) but, and this is dating myself, I had a Q*Bert tabletop game (If you remember those, aren't we getting old) that my cousins took out of my room one day when I was at school, took it outside, left it there and it began to rain. I brought it back in and after I turned it on it had ruined the display and shorted out the insides. I had that sucker for almost 12 years and then two little brats had to ruin it.

I need to get on ebay and find another one of those, I loved that thing so much. It was the best Q*Bert game next to the arcade you could play.

I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

All of my consoles and handhelds still work. I am not a 360 owner.

2 systems have died on me.
My original ZX Spectrum +, which developed a few minor faults and got worse when it would randomly lose power during use, eventually it stopped working completely
Gameboy (original model from 1989), Not quite dead, but unusable - the joypad broke and would behave as if i was pressing right all the time when i wasn't pressing anything; I'd got many, many hours of play out of it and it had been dropped a few times and had drinks spilt over it so it did pretty well...

My first N64 died on me and then got stolen (serves those douches right) and my GameCube also died on me, but unlike my 64, I didn't replace it since the Wii was due soon. I also retired my first DS Lite due to the cracked hinges, and I ended up selling it to my best friend for $20, but since his wife isn't as meticulous as I am when it comes to taking care of your stuff, the top screen on it no longer works and has become detached...

My xbox 360 obviously conked out on me(and everyone who owned one) 3 times. My old gamecube froze but still kept going. Me and my brother furiously played the N64.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, would you kindly?

I've played my original Gameboy Advance to D-pad death (the left on the D-pad won't respond whenever I press it), but other than that nothing has broken down on me (yet).

My Dreamcast barely works any more. Sonic Adventure and Soul Calibur will be deeply missed.

I played my old DS to death...Its shoulder button doesn't work anymore... (Curse you, Metroid Prime: Hunters...)
Also, my SNES is dead now, a little metal piece in a connector cord broke off, so it doesn't work anymore...

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

I suprised more people haven't said the Xbox 360, seeing as though that's the game system that dies the most

I've broken:
1 NES
3 Ps2's
1 Xbox

My NES still technically works, but you have to punch it a few times, blow out the system AND blow out the cartridge. Even then it will still bug out. lol

My Sega Nomad (the screen no longer worked), my first Game Gear (which I bought refurbished back in the mid-1990s), my original Game Boy which lasted almost seven years, my 32X (though even Sega admits that the hardware was faulty to begin with) which began loosening the connectors inside the Genesis, and two Sega Saturns (before the year 2000).

As for the hardware which is expected to break down (due to popular opinion), my first PS2 (model SCPH-30001 aka the Disk Read Error model) still works though it's nine years old though it can't play dual-layer DVDs or blue PS2 CD games). My first DS Lite lasted three years but suffered from the cracked right hinge epidemic - I think it still works but my young nephew spilled dry baby cereal on it as my sister was feeding him. My Wii is thirty months old and while it freezes about once every three months it's not a problem - have to unplug it when it does as it won't respond to anything when it freezes. My DSi's shoulder buttons are unresponsive but blowing on each one helps (I'm afraid to play Thorium Wars though).
