Mabbit

We all have played pokemon before. They've been around on every console since the gameboy.
What's you favorite pokemon game? It could be something like pokemon Snap also.

my favorite is:
Emerald version

I've played them all, but none topped the original for me. Red/Blue all the way. The rest make it too complicated for my tastes.
Pokemon Puzzle League is probably better though, since Puzzle League is the most awesomiest puzzle game there is (well, that or Puyo Pop), but I won't count that because it is just a re-skinned version of another game rather than an original spin-off like Snap.

Come on, friends,

My favourite was Pokemon Stadium, good battling and some surprisingly good mini games. I liked the adventures, but personally I wish that they would release a final game (a 3D Wii version would be nice) with all the Pokemon so far and finally draw a line under it all. They could keep making money with games of My Pokemon Ranch ilk.

My favorite is actually Ruby/Sapphire

Gold/Silver/Crystal are the epitome of sweetness.
Red/Blue/Yellow are also high level, but the interface has gotten a bit archaic. (With Stadium 3x speed it's not a problem though.)
Emerald it's older brothers lack a lot of content, instead of small things like the other 3rd games.
FireRed/Leafgreen were weaksauce compared to the originals.
Diamond/Pearl were weaksauce laggy games with ugly pokemon.

I haven't played Platinum, but I know someone that hated D/P, but loves Pl, so I guess battle speed was D/Ps achilles heel.

Fire Red/Leaf Green for me! Those were the 2 best on the GBA in my opinion

Though every Pokemon is literally the same game remade with limited new content.
From Leaf Green to Pearl I can`t really point out really anything other than the obvious Online play, new Pokemon, new controls, and new characters.

Just for you.

I'm in total agreement with you there. Red/Blue were by far the best in the series. All others have seemed to milk the cashcow too much -- there's a distinct lack of variation (I mean real variation here)

Definitly Gold/Silver those were the biggest pokemon games. AFter that I would say Leaf Green/Fire Red just because it's the original game with better graphics.

This is the truest thing ever said about pokemon. Gold and silver will always be the best.

My favorite(s) would have to be Red/Blue/Yellow because they are the classics and so much fun.

However, I also love Gold/Silver/Crystal because of the improvements of the inventory, and that after you beat the Johoto League you can go to Kanto. Also the new Pokemon were cool and original.

After G/S/C though I think the series became to complicated, the Pokemon were boring and unoriginal and I just didn't enjoy them as much.

I would have to say Gold/Silver/Crystal. Fire Red/Leaf Green comes close.

Personally, I think in when judged purely as RPG's Gold/Silver are the best in the series, but my personal favorite will always be Blue/Red. I don't think I've ever been as obsessed with a game as I was with Pokemon Blue. It was the first (and last) time in the series I fully understood and mastered every Pokemon. After 150 it became too unmanageable. Also, the Pokemon-monster design was at a much higher level in the first game than it was in any game since. Did anyone from the UK ever have those Nintendo Official Magazine Pokemon guides? They honestly were the best game guides I've ever read. They were like a magazine (rather than a book) and you could get them from the news agents, but they were so thoroughly made and well designed. They're starting to fall apart on my shelf but I can't describe how much nostalgia they bring back.
