Hey, did Bubble Bobble come out for the Sega Master System in America?
I read in Retro Gamer that the SMS version is among the best, but it's a European mag.
On E-Bay, I can only find it in PAL format.

You know, now that I type this all out, I think the writting is on the wall...

I'm sorry but it was one of the few ports that didn't get a US release.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

Mostly. Some PAL-exclusive games will be extremely glitchy on NTSC consoles.
But since the game was released in Japan as well, that's probably not the case with Bubble Bobble.
(Japanese games won't work on US or EU SMS because of the different cart shape and because they lack some coding that a US/EU consoles need to detect the game is inserted.)

As long as the game wasn't programmed to run in PAL 50Hz instead of NTSC 60Hz, then the game will work fine.

Bubble Bobble should work fine on a US Master System. It will basically run at the correct speed and not have the image squashed like it would in a Europe Master System.
