Wanted to know what the Nlife community thought about paid services such as live and its effect on gaming. I made this thread as i noticed that the the XBLM updated with a whole section dedicated to season passes
I'm honestly pretty cool with Paying for xbox live as it brings in services I couldn't get on another platform.
WAT!
Hey check out my awesome new youtube channel shingi70 where I update weekly on the latest gaming and comic news form a level headed perspective.
I hate Xbox live Gold. It forces me to buy it for things I don't want. Worst part for me is that it is still full of ads.

Yep, I'm not in favor of paying for Xbox Live anymore either. I actually sold my Xbox 360 because of the paid subscription to use online multiplayer. If I'm going to pay for a year subscription, it'll be the PS+ one which give me tons of games to try, free add-on content and loads of discounts of top-tier/new downloadable games.

Not sure all about the xbox stuff, but so far I've already got my $50 back that PS+ costs per year, with lots of discounts and... yeah everything slapshot said
If I pay to own the games and pay for an Internet connection I shouldn't be paying to play the games I've already bought over the Internet connection I'm already paying for. I'm not rich, so I don't have the money for this.
PS+ is Sony trying to make PSN more like Xbox LIVE. I'm saying PS+ is a transitional service. By the time PS4 rears it's ugly snout, don't be surprised to see online multiplayer only available to those willing to pay a monthly fee. I hope the Wii U doesn't follow this console trend. If it does though, it won't really affect me. Online gaming is best left on the PC. (Guild Wars 2, here I come.)
Uh.. yeah, nah, not liking Xbox Live's concept. Maybe pay $10 or $20 a year to access basic Live Gold features (such as multiplayer), but I'll stick with my 3DS, Wii and Steam.
And inevitably, Guild Wars 2
PS: PS+ you get more out of that $50 investment than MS' $60. If I could, I would subscribe to PS+ because it has soooo much benefits.
I only wish there was a "low-tier" price in place for Xbox Live. I really only use it for Multiplayer and Netflix afaik. I'd rather a cheaper rate without ESPN, Last.fm, etc. Since I've never been without a Gold membership, I'm kind of uneducated on what else I'd be losing by switching to Silver.
Also, I'm coming up for renewal soon and I'm struggling to find the $39.99 deals that were so common once-upon-a-time.
