Didnt the ds start out selling the 3DS in its second or third week?

Whats more of a concern should be christmas sales are not good. I know christmas is not as big in japan but if they are using christmas money to buy other things; then the vita might be in early trouble.

According to Media Create Psp sold over 100,00 units compared to Vita's 72, 000. To be fair the Psp is huge in Japan so I'm not surprised that it's still selling well. Didn't the same thing happen with the DS and the 3DS?

I agree with you on everything except the online store. The PlayStation Network has way more on it than the 3DS' online shop.
It will be interesting to see how the Vita does. I hope both portables do well,

Maybe Sony needs to reduce the price of the Vita by 1/3 soon and see if it kickstarts its sales like 3DS. Or at the very least, release a third analog stick add-on. LOL

That makes wonder, if the Vita doesn't sell well, what reasons the media will invent for the failure. Obviously they went with the lack of a second analogue stick and price for the 3DS, but where do you go with the Vita - it's got everything but the kitchen sink.

The lack of games argument doesn't hold - the launch games are varied and look excellent. Battery life looks reasonable for such a high powered machine. It's not called PSP2 so it is fairly obvious it's a new machine. It is much cheaper than a PAYG smartphone, and plays 'proper' games.

Maybe we are witnessing the end of handheld gaming as we know and love it.

72,000!!! I have a feeling Vita will need a price cut when it arrives in the UK and US.

I don't believe that this is at all the end of handheld gaming.

The Nintendo 3DS is selling a lot better and it is gaining strength here in the USA and I know because I talk with a lot of gamers and I'm always asking the sales agents at various GameStop stores if the 3DS has picked up and they keep saying its doing well.

I have a strong feeling the PS Vita will do a lot better here in the USA than Japan. Many young adults that I talk with are highly excited about the Vita. I'm think PlayStation has a strong fan base in the US and the UK and that alone is something to give hope. The only hurdle that will harm the PS Vita is the price of the hardware and the Memory Card.

I still think sales will pick up fir the PS Vita after E3.

My parents money has been drained because of the iPhone. My Mother is dissatisfied with the iPhone as it has given her problem after problem.
One of my closest friends has the latest iteration of the iPhone and it constantly irresponsive and is always freezing up.

I used to be fascinated with Apple but now I see that Apple is nothing more than a fad and the something people want to buy into so they brag about how they have the latest Apple product and you don't. I had just gotten an iPod Touch and five months in it started messing up and freezing and so I sold it.

I've had an iPod Touch for more than a year and it still works fine, and I still have fun playing $1 games on it that have more content than 90% of DSiWare. And if your iPod lasted only 5 months, you could've taken it to any Apple store and gotten a new one from the 1-year warranty that every new iPod Touch has. Unless of course you bought it used online, which would likely explain why it broke so quickly in the first place.

They still make the Best Tablet on the Market.
They still make three of the best MP3 players on the market. (the new nano sucks)
They still have the best laptops and even created the new Ultrabook phase.
Though the 4S is disappointing its still in the top three best phones.

Well guys I got my iPod Touch new but I'm mostly ticked off with the iGaming crap. I believe in REAL console based gaming not cheesy dollar app games. I like killer graphics and all of that. The more I mature as a young adult I prefer the PS3. I respect those who like iGaming nonetheless but I myself like the iPad for movie watching.

Looking at Dead Space on my kindle it looks good.

Also thing of Note you realize by this time next year Smartphones will be more powerful than the Vita.

But yeah use my Tab for Reading,Browsing, Movies, and News.
