Yeah that's probably true. Hopefully they do focus on the mechanics quite a lot and not just a generic collectathon though. That's what Mario does so well.
The variety of types of movement are quite good. Speed rolling, spring jump, gliding.
Allows for a lot of cool platformer situations if they make the most of it.
I might cancel my PS4 preorder. I watched some videos of PC gameplay, and the framerate is SO much smoother on a powerful system. Playing with a DS4 should be no problem now that Steam supports it.
I collected all 100 things last night. It was fun. I can't wait for this.
Don't watch the following trailer if you're completely avoiding any spoilers regarding Horizon Zero Dawn. Looks like they improved the faces, looks a lot better now, and it's great to see the variety in environments, cities and tribes. I've got a feeling that if it's good, it will be really good.
@Octane I don't know, I thought the faces looked fine to begin with. Everything in this game has looked gorgeous since the beginning. If anything, the protagonist looks worse: didn't she used to have freckles? Her face has less character now.
Not feeling really hot about the story based on this trailer, either.
I'll wait for reviews.

@Ralizah I just compared it to the 2015 trailer, looks the same person to me (same amount of freckles), but the animations seem a bit better. Maybe this is PS4 Pro downscaled to 1080p or something like that.
The best part of this trailer is that it's shows a lot of stuff that we haven't seen before, looks like this is going to be a pretty long game. Not something you can finish in a day or two.
The face looks slightly different to me. I don't know, I'll need to look at stills later. It's hard to even see freckles on her now, but maybe that's just the lighting or something.
I was expecting more of a 20 - 30 hour experience. It really depends on how deep the open world and quest system is.

@Ralizah Yeah, that's true, I was hoping for at least 50 hours of content though. We'll see.
@Dezzy I think they are, action RPG or something. I know there's a simple skill tree and either a level system or some kind of point system. Don't expect a complex RPG though, it's more a mishmash of several genres. I'm not too fused about that though, as long as it's good I don't care what they call it.
I remember some questing, loot collection, etc. in some of the gameplay footage. It seems reasonably RPGish to me: at least, more RPGish than most of the stuff we're calling RPGs today (like Bloodborne and Fallout 4, for example). I'm unsure how stat-driven the action is, though.

It'd probably be quicker nowadays if we just point out when there ISNT a skill tree.
I know I'd appreciate that list. Skill trees are all well & good, but I miss the variety...
EDIT: Also, I got all my stuff together so I could take a bus over to Gamestop in order to pick up Gravity Rush 2...only to realize that it doesn't come out until next Friday. The wait is killing me...
I think I've decided not to get Gravity Rush 2 at launch, as much as I'm looking forward to it. I'm currently still playing through some other games, and Horizon and Zelda have a priority. I probably won't be able to finish it before those come out anyway, especially considering I'm moving soon. It'll be a summer game for me. It's unfortunate, but I'm really busy, and there are great games coming out soon.

@Ralizah Apparently the strategy guide for this game is about the same size as the guide for Skyrim, and bigger than the guides for The Witcher 3 and Mass Effect Andromeda. Of course, this means not a whole lot, but it suggests that there could a ton of side quests. In that case, it'll be a 80-100 hour experience for me.
@Octane I certainly respect your decision. I'd probably follow suit if I didn't love Gravity Rush 2 so much. Although, you reminded me that I need to finish Skyward Sword...or at least make it to the final Dungeon before I flake. Gotta keep consistant.
