The new Final Fantasy XVI gameplay reminded me of XV. Not a good sign. I liked the music track when he just walks through the nature though. Still not really feeling like playing a forgettable Final Fantasy again.
Ah whatever I will try to stop being negative about Final Fantasy (Edit: and Square Enix) all the time. I do not expect a masterpiece, but at least the product seems to be good and polished. Thankfully the blood effects do not look as extreme as I feared. And maybe it will be possible to turn them off.
If Soken-San made the music as good as in Final Fantasy XIV, that alone will be worth the journey I think.
Edit: Yep after rewatching the new gameplay not only did I feel Final Fantasy, but I also felt alot of Final Fantasy XIV. I think I am starting to understand why people are so hyped for this game.
After watching the Final Fantasy VII Remake Summer Game Fest trailer I have to admitt that I really want to play that game. It is a little bit like Kingdom Hearts, my brain says no but my heart says yes. But hopefully I can convince my brain. I had a great time playing part 1. The gameplay was fine, the music, environments and amosphere was awesome and the characters were all really cool. It really has class for the most part. Only the part about it being a sequel is a little bit hard to like for me. But to be honest I hope they can top the original game. I care for the characters and would like for them to get a great adventure and a happy ending. Who knows maybe even Sephiroth will find peace?
And a Square Enix game in this day and age being released on two discs, how awesome is that?
Just finished up the Vader fight in Jedi Survivor.
So far none of the (story) bosses in this game have been as hard as the bosses in Fallen Order (up until now I've beaten every one on my first attempt), however this one absolutely kicked my butt multiple times, though it feeling anything but nearly insurmountable wouldn't have been right I guess. Though it's also partially because Cere doesn't have nearly as much health as my Cal (and only holds 4 stims, while I have 11 with Cal). Some of Vader's attacks are practically one kit KO's at that.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Iโve been working my way through the Lies of P demo, just putting in an hour or so of playtime here and there. Itโs a lot of fun despite a few bugs and issues.
The boss fights are brutal but theyโre a lot of fun once you get the hang of it. I love the world-building and the scenery. Itโs beautiful. Iโm really loving the demo so far.
Itโs early days and Iโm trying not to be reactionary but I really think if the full release irons out all the bugs then I strongly believe this could be my GOTY.

Just watched the first two hours of Final Fantasy XVI in total disbelief. I know I wanted to be positive about Final Fantasy and Square Enix but ouch this game is so wrong. [spoiler] The game starts with blood, slaughtered people, politics, swearing and an almost (love) scene in the first 12 minutes. This game is just degeneration. In two hours I could not care for one person and the dialogue is just boring. The music was just there to alright but the song which started in the marshes had soul. Generally the game lacks soul and atmosphere. I can not believe this was made by the people of Final Fantasy XIV.
They really were chasing the wrong trends, even the trend of destroying a franchise. People who said this is just Game Of Thrones mixed with Witcher III and Chocobos were right.
Sadly the only thing they took of Witcher III is the violence and a little bit of the battle mechanic. It lacks the writing and soul Witcher III has.
The first two hours were almost only cutscenes with a little bit of gameplay. Running around the bland environments felt uninspired but thankfully at least the fights itself seemed to be slightly enjoyable.
Seriously this is not Final Fantasy. This is just soulless and violent stuff. Not even the graphics were impressive. Sure this were just the first two hours but I played enough games to know this is the wrong direction and it will be a massive disappointment to me.
This could have been the game that would make the series rise up like a phoenix from his ashes but like Clives brother it was mercilessly killed just for the sake of being violent and wrong. And I do not want to support this, play the game and be the one who did it.
Please excuse me for being so negative but I feel like this is a new low for the series. I can not believe how Square Enix can go from Final Fantasy VII to X to this.
@Jhena
I'm glad I stop caring Final Fantasy Roman numbers started from 14.
15 was disgusting.
16 was even more disgusting.
I extremely hate ultra omg realistic graphics with extreme violent on it.
Not Final Fantasy games anymore, they are disgusting ultra violent Western looking RPG games with Final Fantasy logo slapped on it.
Final Fantasy Roman number is already dead.
@Magician
I did only watch a stream on Youtube, and all I can say is, that the battles seem enjoyable. I could be totally wrong but it reminded me of the dancing- around- combat from Witcher III.
