Made it to the moon lab in Jedi Survivor, and am glad it's a relatively "smaller" more contained map compared to Koboh & Jedha. The "Metroidvania" style progression really clicks when it's not stretched thin like it is over the latter two worlds' massive maps.
To be fair, Jedha wasn't too bad on my first visit, but I was only able to explore a little over 20% of it, and I could see from the lookout at the base's back that the next area is going to be a massive open zone (like the one Koboh opens up into) which just doesn't mesh too well with the basic gameplay loop & makes getting around a bit of a chore.

3pm CST for today's Playstation showcase. An hour long presentation. Should be a dandy. I'm hoping to see Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Metal Gear...anything, and Wolverine gameplay. I won't lie, I have been exceedingly tempted to order that FF XVI PS5 bundle.
Ok I’m seeing metal gear remake pop up EVERYWHERE. Is that game even confirmed to exist? Only some of these games that people predict have actually been announced, such as Crash and Spider Man 2. I’m not saying these announcements won’t happen, I’m just surprised people place so much faith in random folks on the internet. Remember the September Nintendo direct where Metroid Prime Trilogy HD, Wind Waker HD, and Twilight Princess HD were supposed to show up because Jeff Grubb said so? Right, because I do. Every single gaming news outlet including Nintendo Life reported on it and it never happened, not one of those games. I just don’t want anyone here to be disappointed like those poor twitter folks who are very disillusioned and out of touch with reality, that’s all.
Spider-Man 2 & Granblue Fantasy looked good, but we knew about those. Phantom Blade 0 (?), that Chinese action game, looked promising too. Nothing interesting other than those though (outside of CGI trailers).
Super disappointed that there was no new Stellar Blade trailer.

That showcase was pretty hard to watch. Fine for folk who like to gawp at graphics, but not much gameplay for me to hang my hat on. Even less actually captured my imagination. Still...
I'm glad I didn't even watch the showcase since I knew I can trust my instinct that there was NO upcoming kids games shown from the showcase.
Oh, well.
Back to check play-asia for upcoming 3rd party kids games.
Wow, Spider Man 2 looks incredible. I thought the first game was a solid 7/10, but this looks like an improvement in almost every way.
And the MGS ports and MGS3 Remake are really good news to hear. It’s great to know that the series isn’t dead and that Konami still cares about it somewhat, even without Kojima. Hopefully MGS4 will get a remake at some point as well.
Funny that I called the older metal gear solid games getting ported a day or so ago. But what fascinates me is that the first three metal gear solid games are part of volume 1/2. If I were to guess, I’d say Vol 2 would have the spin off titles Portable Ops, Revengance, and maybe 4. Only Solid 4 if it’s a PS exclusive set. I haven’t played it, but people say Solid 4 used some PS3 exclusive features and that’s why it hasn’t been rereleased yet. Interesting. Might buy the Metal Gear Solid Volume 1 because I haven’t played a Metal Gear game before, but only if it is something reasonable for pricing like 50 dollars. It’s just a bunch of old game ports, not worth 80-90 dollars CA.
@TheBigBlue I can't find anything about the collection coming to any other platforms (only the MGS3 remake appears to be multiplatform). So volume 2 will probably be 4 and the PSP games.
Sword of the Sea was the highlight for me. Although I was hoping for Metal Gear stuffs, MGS 3 is my least favorite in the series, lol. Peace Walker was more my hope but...rip, I guess that's being held for volume two of the MGS current-gen ports. Other than that I thought it was a fine presentation.
@Ralizah Are you thinking more along the lines of $40? Hmm, I dunno, maybe. I think MGS is Konami's most well known IP. Volume one contains five games and I think Konami asking $12 per game isn't wildly out of line.
