RE8 being next-gen only is a bit unexpected really. A game like that in the first year of a new console generation would usually be cross-gen. Hell, MGS5 was crossgen and that was 2 years into the new console generation.
I wonder if that was technical reasons, or if someone paid them to help sell new consoles.
I noticed on PS the story on Activision charging $70 for PS5 from now on. Not surprising, but still, ugh "we need to keep up with rising costs" — riiight so your quarterlies have been going consistently down for years commensurate with this rise in costs divided by market growth, right?
Reminder that Activision had a massively successful quarter (year?) and then fired 800 people less than 2 years ago.
Honestly I should probably say this about ANY post that mentions Activision.
Are you waiting to preorder a PS5? Do you want to avoid resellers taking all available preorders, forcing you to pay a flipper double or more on eBay? Then skip retailers and register through the PlayStation directly. https://www.playstation.com/en-us/campaigns/2020/ps5-direct-p...

The highlight of Gamescom Opening Night Live was by far the Ratchet and Clank demo and the confirmation it's launching in the launch window. PS5 year 1 looks so strong.
There was some cool stuff during the Gamescom video (Scarlet Nexus, Star Wars Squadrons, Metal of Honor: Above & Beyond, LEGO Star Wars, & Ratchet & Clank), but none of it we really didn't know of before, and too little considering the time it ran for.
I'll give Call of Duty an honorary two thumbs up though, for next-gen Reagan.
No you're registering for a chance to be selected based on "previous interests and ps activities" (whales, influencers, right demographics..... Legally questionable imo)
To be sent a time limited invite to get a first come first serve shot at the limited inventory...ie their hand picked invites will still outnumber the number of available units.
@Ralizah Nah, looks cool, but that's not one of the "i need to sign up to be notified that I've been personally selected to enter to win a first come first serve change to buy a full price beta console" games.
Ratchet would be though! (And i did sign up... It didn't send email confirmation and I'm sure I'm not their demographic whale they're hand picking, do who knows if it even registered, but there it is...
Edit: and we all remember how my GameStop pre-order of the kh3 le pro went last year... :}

You... literally said a thing, and then, in the next paragraph, said the opposite thing. Am I misunderstanding something, or do you have multiple personalities now?

Alright, serious question: At this point, who thinks 9th gen is going to get delayed to launch next year so that both sides can keep avoiding going first. It's getting to be too late to announce things, right?
@Dezzy Eh. I think "launch window" probably means first three months, personally. Otherwise it'd be something like "First half of 2021."
@link3710 Sony has already said they're launching this year. Given how strained supplies are likely to be, that's probably going to be a very soft launch, though.
Microsoft is in a tough position: launch without any notable games to play on their new, expensive toy, or delay their launch and allow Sony to seize this generation by the neck very early on. Although the latter is likely to happen regardless, so maybe delaying the Series X by a few months in the way to go.
