I see Assassin's Creed is only $20 on the US PSN store. Think it's time I gave that game a go. I wish Eternal Sonata was on there too.

@Roopa
Most 2.5 inch SATA 5400 RPM hard drives should work. 750GB is currently the max you can get at 2.5 inches. All you really need to back up are your games saves so a USB flash drive should be enough.

I recently upgraded to 750GB and could not be happier. I actually did a full backup but only my game saves transferred over for some reason. I had to redownload all my games, themes, and stuff like Netflix and Home. Now I feel like I'm finally using my PS3 to it's full potential. No longer do I worry about having to delete any games every time I want to download something new. I installed 44 disc based games with dlc, downloaded 24 episodes of Qore, 27 minis, 22 PSone classics, 124 PSN games, both seasons of the Tester, 35 albums, some demos, betas and random videos and I STILL have just under 400GB available.

Here's a link for the hard drive I bought off Amazon:

Wait, is Flight Control HD on the US PSN?

Nope, I bought my copy from the EU store.

Did you EU Plus members get Red Faction Battlegrounds for Free?
Dungeon Hunter Alliance review should be up in the morning.

DHA is a ton of fun!

Might and Magic is even more than a ton of fun. What a genuinely awesome PSN week.

I'm up for some DHA in about 3-ish hours if anyone else wants to.

Otherwise I'll just kick some big 5-headed butt in FF13.

See? Might and Magic is the best thing on the PSN to date. I hope we see many more games of that kind of quality

I wouldn't go that far at all. It's a good game, and one of the better pretend-tactics puzzle games, but ultimately a game where the player is at the mercy of the randomizer and his level. It's Puzzle Quest and Castlevania: Puzzle of the Night all over again, just with a better storyline and more mission variety.

If I have to watch the computer get magically given multiple link combos every time they request reinforcements one more time I'm uninstalling it. I might as well sit around rolling dice or playing Mario Kart.

Yeah, I'm not too sure about Might and Magic. I did enjoy the demo, but I don't think this is something I want to play on my PS3. I think I might end up grabbing it for DS instead. I really enjoy my puzzle type games on the go. I'd much rather be playing Mass Effect for Dungeon Hunter Alliance on my home consoles.

In defense of Might and Magic, at least with that game you can defend against enemy attacks. In Puzzle Quest, all you do is watch as your health bar drops when the random stuff gets on a roll. In Might and Magic, you'll still get a couple of turns to shore up defences and/ or counterattack.

Once or twice I've felt hard done by by the random effect, but in the 99 per cent of other battles, I've been able to deal with whatever the AI's thrown at me.

As for the Dungeon Hunter stuff - there's a little game called Dungeon Explorer on the PSP that's similarish - it's a hack and slash dungeon-based game, with randomly generated levels etc etc. I quite enjoyed it - I find the handheld consoles a more natural fit for such simplistic gameplay, personally. If you have a PSP, check it out on the PSN - sounds like it's your kind of game

In other news, I'ma gonna give Dynasty Warriors 7 5/5. It's the best darned Warriors game to date.

@Waltz - I think it has more to do with my "strain against the leash" gaming mentality--I don't like when an enemy that's 1 level higher with units 2 levels higher is completely untouchable (little bonus-elf battle in the first world) - I set up perfect strategies and his sitting-around units eat up every possible attack...and then the game spams 2 green dragon-things at the back on a stack of units with none of the same-color units anywhere even remotely close.

We'll see if it picks up but I feel most of my defensive efforts are way too hampered by the randomizer as well...again, with the at-or-below level regular storyline battles it's the computer that gets repeatedly screwed by any randomizer deviation and thus is less noticeable.... I dunno overall 3.5/5, 4 would be gracious due to the game type. Still it's the best puzzle/RPG hybrid I've played by far...there just isn't much of a competitor to compare it to. I tried the multi a couple times but my partner dropped 4 times in a row while picking players/teams.

Are you talking about the elf that goes on about the Unicorns? He's not too difficult - fill your own party with archers, trents and deer.

You can beat him when you're a level or so lower than him, and you don't need level 5 troops of your own.

I only really start to struggle when I'm 3 levels below my opponent - and in the context of this game, that's like trying to take on the end boss off a Final Fantasy game with a bunch of level 20s.

You're implying that isn't possible. It totally is--and in cases like FF7, it can be done substantially earlier than 20s without too much effort. Apples to Oranges, though.

And yeah--that elf guy. I hadn't gotten ents yet and was 2 levels down/level 3 units and he was just unapproachable. Any of his trash units could kill 2 stacks of readied units--short of extreme luck and tons of fusing, there just wasn't any way to even attempt this battle. Not to mention he has 2 more moves than I do (I think) and was able to complete twice as many combos every friggin' turn. Grrr....

Ok, rephrase - trying to beat the final boss of Final Fantasy 1 with level 20s

Point is, underlevelled is underlevelled. It's not really any more a problem in this game than in other RPGs, imo.

As for that specific Elf dude - the treasures he's guarding (Unicorns) are high level stuff. It's a bit of a red herring that he's there - you're not going to be able to beat him until you have Treants, really.

Some of the side quest bounties are the same. They sit there in the open before you're ready to take them on. But then the penalties for losing are nonexistent, so you can just come back and try again at a later date

Not to mention he has 2 more moves than I do (I think) and was able to complete twice as many combos every friggin' turn. Grrr....

He doesn't. He has the same number of turns you do. Just make good use of fusing and linking yourself. And yeah, use archers. Because that's all he uses, you're not going to have the time for the more powerful bears to build up their attacks.

Oh god, don't get him started on the DW games. Waltzelf has a love for the series that borders on the erotic.

@Waltz.... Dungeon Explorer on PSP hold nothing to Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade or Untold Legends: The Warrior's Code. If you want a great portable dungeon crawler, those are the two games to get.

@waltz HAH you gave it a 5/5 !!! thats a fanboy if ive EVER seen it. the Dynasty warriors series has gotten increasingly bad since like number 4 and thats a fact. NO way in hell it deserves a 5/5 im sorry but its true http://www.gamerankings.com/ps3/606303-dynasty-warriors-7/ind...

Have you played it? Or read my review? No and no. So you're actually trolling, because you don't know why I gave it a good review, and you don't actually know how the game plays at all. It's a 1000 word review, and says a lot more than "It's good, 5/5," if that helps.

And f*** what the western press write about the games. They have NFI. Famitsu gave it 9/9/9/9 for 36/40.

Oh god, don't get him started on the DW games. Waltzelf has a love for the series that borders on the erotic.

Yes and no. In practice I'm no different from people that buy every FPSer that comes out, and love them.

For what its worth I do try and assess these games objectively as a critic. I don't know of any other historical action games that are better than Dynasty Warriors 7, therefore, by my rating system, it gets 5/5. I see the game in a positive light because I write the review for someone who might be interested in the game, and is trying to decide whether it's any good.

I'm not above slaughtering games of this style that are actually bad. I have Segoku Busara 1.5/ 5 because it was a terrible, terrible game.

That's not saying it's the best game of all time, or will appeal to people like Smithers, though.

Yeah, I need to try those, but I don't think they're on the Aussie PSN...

EDIT: On another note, is anyone else hella-interested in The Cursed Crusade? The more I see, the more I want!
