As for Might and Magic I downloaded the demo and really, really, didn't like it . I thought the strategy element of it was pretty weak and like someone above said just way too open to chance. Just wasn't for me. Still debating on Dungeon Hunter Alliance or not...

That's always the problem with demos for any game that goes into real depth - I don't know how long the Might and Magic demo is, but the game really doesn't start to open up until the 3-4 hour mark. Once you get there the strategy and puzzle elements start to come to the fore, and the game starts to become layered. It would be like trying to gauge Final Fantasy XIII on the first two hours... I suspect that's why SE never bothered with a demo.

That said, I also believe the job of a demo is to grab your attention. If it doesn't well... probably not worth the extra investment.

i downloaded Might & Magic and we love it. let me know anyone if you want to try some online matches.

I agree--I tend not to like strategy games at all...or puzzle games for that matter....when I like strategy games, I need a metric ton of control to feel satisfied. One of my favorite series is probably the King's Bounty (neo) series on PC--took the Heroes of Might and Magic battle system (which was originally, ironically, the DOS King's Bounty battle system) and refined it to hell and back, balanced it to perfection, and sports the most diverse units and best combination of gameplay systems I've ever seen in the genre. Kind of PC Role-playing-strategy blend and it rocks.

@Swerd Sorry for disconnecting on you dude, that one quest was fun (more fun than single-player anyways). Internet is pretty messed up atm so we can try but I can't promise anything.

@the aviator and swerd i get off at six am central time this moring, ill be on from 7am til noon again, i have level 21 mage(yay) and a level 10 rouge. the rouge is quite good but i like my mage too much lolz

@avi - it's all good man--timing was actually decent in that my friend got done playing rift and we co-opped for a little while. I'll host next time-- in order to connect w/ friends via invite you have to cursor over the character you're gonna choose for multi then mash X like crazy for a while instead of hitting it once. No idea why this works, but it works. Yay. If you create a new character instead of choosing a pre-existing one I think it bypasses that problem somehow. Still, either way works if you hammer X.

@odd - looove mage. Played a bit earlier--even early-on tactics are fun w/ mage. Freezing everyone in a line, then debuffing everyone's defense, then re-freezing is quite awesome. If your timing was different I'd probably be down tomorrow, but chances are I'll be waking up around noon. I'll be done with work by 8pm central so tomorrow night might work...

This game co-op is seriously a blast.

I'm down to show off my Rogue tonight, that is if the weather doesn't shut my internet down!

@slap - dunno if i'll be around....just finished work and got a call about some pub crawl downtown....might have to go be social for a while before i retreat to my cave. Besides I could use some female eye-candy tonight...

@DHA_owners - Remember--if you're the joining player (and you're using a character you have, not choosing "New Character" and making one) you need to hammer X when you choose your char instead of just hitting it once. If you hit it once, it says the game doesn't exist and can't connect.

Sorry I didn't make it on last night guys, my copy of Monte Python and the Holy Grail Special Edition arrived, and I couldn't resist watching it again.

Prob not gonna be on tonight either...I have no work Monday though and am down for DHA during any/all hours that day.

On a completely unrelated topic--if any of you own a 360, pass on Castlevania HD. I played it at a friend's the other night and it's like slightly-crappier SoTN with co-op and no storyline or real reason to play. Music is also turbo-cheesified, boring-guitar remixes of actually-good series tunes. 10 dollars not-so-well spent, imo...PS3 owners definitely aren't missing out by not having that one. It kinda feels like one of those copycat game maker 7 games....the physics/mechanics almost feel right, but just feel cheap and low budget somehow.

Had an awesome online Might and Magic match with Wolfram yesterday. He beat me by 2 life (out of a starting total of 100). So close
