So after grabbing Metal Gear Solid 4 Im feeling like a comple a$$. See I got my PS3 right when trophies started, like about two weeks after I got my PS3 the trophy patch went through on PAIN and a few more games. I got MGS4 a few months later, but had bought Fallout 3 and Bioshock and literally started MGS4 and was like ...mehhh..... no trophies ....mehhh... and quit. So the game is actually flippin incredible, and the weapons dealer gimmick is awesome because in a few hours Ive got a M4A1 fully decked out the way I want and I didnt realize I could lock the game into a 3rd Person but aim down the bar FPS style. That is awesome. Im loving it so far and just want to slap myself for whoring out on trophies that way.

About Medal Of Honor, It's gotten so many bad reviews and bad scores. I looked at a Walk-through of it yesterday and it seriously looks garbage and generic. I'm serious, MW2 is more original than it and has better graphics to me anyway.

@Slappy; Yeah, Trophy whoring had some very negative side-effects around Trophy launch, including some games that didn't include them failing at retail specifically because people didn't want to play games without Trophies (Eternal Sonata comes to mind, as well as Valkyria Chronicles...though the latter obviously did SOMEWHAT better since it developed into a series). It also made me feel much less like fighting my way through some games such as Heavenly Sword, which I didn't feel was enjoyable enough to stick with "unrewarded." It's also, I'm ashamed to admit, been a large factor in me STILL having not finished R&CF: Tools of Destruction.
Oh, and in related news: I just hit PSN Level 15.

Infamous is a fantastic game. Did you play as good or evil? Are you gonna go for the second playthrough for the trophies of Cole's alter ego?
I played on the Good side and some of my trophies glitched there as well. Ill eventually go through it again on evil. I think I have like 50+ shards left to find and a few stunts. I doubt I pull for Platinum on this one. I barely finished it as it was. Im just not a fan of open world gaming especially when I have to run for 5+ minutes from the end of one mission to start the next. That gets frustrating and boring and Infamous was well famous for it.
@Sean... I wouldnt really get too worked up over it man. Im sure it will find its audience and Im sure its servers will be packed for the next year lol. I know i was in Gamestop for like an hour talking to my buddy today and several people bought it.
@Stuff.... I enjoy trophies to an extent. If its something Im really having fun with Ill go for Platinum or for above 75% but Im not putting hours into something Im not enjoying for the sake of trophies, just not happening. Borderlands has it perfectly done. 100% the games missions mode get you a Platinum. Its a massive game but it never ask you to do stupid crap for trophies.
RandC and Heavenly Sword fell to the wayside for me because of lack of trophies, BUT those two game are what made me not care so much about trophies anymore as well. After playing them through, and having a blast I realized just how much trophies were ruling the way I was playing my games. Doing dumbass stuff all through the games that I wouldnt have done otherwise for trophies instead of enjoying the game for what it is. Its not happening anymore for me and Ive promised that to myself. If the trophy set is implemented right and Im enjoying myself with the game and feel like going for a Platinum it will happen, otherwise it just not happening ever again.
I don't generally care too much for sandbox-style games, but InFamous was great. I really didn't mind running around in the world...for one thing, it's not as big as a lot of them. It's also just more interesting and more fun to play in, IMO. InFamous FTW!

Yeah, that. I do agree that the Shards take the hunting for random crap to a new level because it actually benefits you and not just for trophies sake. I still got very tired of it by the end, storyline was FANTASTIC though! Great game, will never leave my collection.
Oh... checked and Im at 72% on Lv 14. You got me beat!
Oh and I replied to you earlier post in a EDIT above but you beat me to it lol
I would've hit level 15 a while ago if I'd been playing PS3 (aside from Uncharted 2) recently, but I've been busy with other, non-Trophy-having systems (DS and PSP). I do have my own limits for dumb stuff to earn Trophies, mind...I'm not entirely convinced I'll get around to finishing FFXIII's Plat at this rate, for example, and I never even TRIED to Plat Mirror's Edge. On the other hand, I'm the mega loser with the Sonic Unleashed Plat. I'm an enigma.
I haven't been able to force myself to boost the LAST Trophy I need to Plat Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing...I'd still rather play it online with friends. If only some of you HAD THE GAME...
In the end, I don't claim to be able to explain my gaming habits. They're both weird and unpredictable. The latter having an exception where it concerns the frequent playing of Uncharted 2, that is. Which reminds me...my clan moved our play night back to Tuesdays at 9pm Eastern, so people should totally join us then. I'm often up to play at other times as well...just ask!

@Stuff... alot of mine comes from limited time really. Ive also had a ton of games I got last Christmas and Im now officailly through all of them except Sigma 2 wich is Brutal hard and Im completely stuck on and havent felt like scouring through it lately. Im down to pretty much just the Triple A Great PS3 games is all I started up my first second playthru on Dead Space, and then my bro wanted to borrow it lol, but Im very much looking forward to playing back through RaC Crack in Time, Uncharted 2 on Crushing, Uncharted Crusing finish up, both Bioshocks (Brass Balls trophy wich is a playthrough on Hard without dying) and getting back at Motorstory Pacific Rift and then Ive always got MAG and Uncharted 2 online shooters and Sports Championships. Trophies are fun and implemented right can really add a lot of enjoyment to a game, but in some cases its just not there for me.
MGS4 is a game not to be missed, trophies or not.
... oh I did try to get Mirrors Edge and I still might fire it back up and continue. Its BRUTAL, as the timed challanges are really hard, but Ive gotten like half of them done. I need to go back for it. I loved that game, Seriously loved it and hope that someone as EA gets there head out of there butt and funds the sequel.

Man, and I thought I was doing well with 151 trophies and level 5.
Need to play more cat an, still don't have a trophy there.
But because I play a lot of older PS3 games, minis and ps1 games, I spend a lot of time laying non-trophy games. Currently playing through Dynasty Warriors 6, for instance.
I also discovered Kurushi Final, which I didn't ply back in e PS1 era. That game is all kinds of awesome.
@Strofan... they must have really done some changes to the online, because in the beta I went like 30+ kills to like 5 death a LOT. Way too easy when it wasnt lagging. I think its a game I would enjoy but Im down with MAG and the surgery + buying the SUV has me strapped down money wise for a good while. Ive got a $50 gift card to ToysRus and Im planning on getting The Fight unless the ratings end up being crap wich I dont expect as I know a few who have actually played and and loved it, but if it does indeed end up being a pile of crap Im getting the new Castlevania, the demo was fantastic and Kojima is a gaming mastermind so Im sure the game is astounding.
@trophy_discussion ....i love trophies hahahh and when I played the Beta it was fun, but i was over halfway to the Tier 1 Level during 3 days of gameplay.........way too short
@Strofan.... Im no stranger to online shooters. My MW2 stats are quite nice Ive got like 6000 less death than kills I think my kills are around 25000 now in that one.

I am better than you now.

@turtlelink: I have every reason to believe that it COULD have had a Platinum Trophy if SEGA had been willing to put in the effort to do so. It almost definitely WOULD have if it wasn't also on XBLA. To date, there has only been ONE game on both PSN and XBLA to have a Plat: Call of Duty Classic. Sadly, I expect this same problem will plague Beyond Good & Evil HD...unless of course the file size gets too high and they're forced to scrap the 360 version a la Stranger's Wrath.

@Sean.... Nice, Ive seen you been back on it hard lately.
@Strofan.... Im deadly with the knife, Sean is as well. Especially with a SMG and Maraton/Lightweight then right when you see someone, just barely tap the button and the knife will fly directly into the dead front of you for a instant kill. Quite funny when you do it like 5-6 times in a row lol. Knowing the right ways to manage killsreaks is the big one here. I use Predator Missile, Harrier, Chopper Gunner to get the missle for usually two kills, then one more for the Harrier, get a good placement for the air strike and get a few kill and let the Harrier do the dirty work while you find a good hiding spot to go up in the Chopper Gunner. You can easily go 20+ killstreaks this way.
