Not really that much of a fighter fan, so I guess you're all allowed to stab me in the back for not being excited for this announcement.

@madgear: I must disagree with the assertion that quote "Wii could handle them fine too." Really, they'd have to make enough changes to the code as to practically program a whole separate game, and that's just not worth their time and money with the sales your average non-Nintendo core gamer game on Wii gets. Sorry you don't get to play it, but that's the trade-off you have to accept when you make Wii your ONLY console.
@V8 Ninja: I'm not much of a fighter fan either, but this one intrigues me nonetheless. As long as they don't cut out my favorite character from MvC2 (Tron Bonne) and add some of the über awesome characters I want (like Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth), I'm sold, even though I'll probably suck at it.

Looking at the promotional art and trailer, I see a silhouette of Deadpool!!! He is my most used in both Ultimate Alliances, and I would love to see his hilarity put into this game.

I will be excited only if it comes to Wii. However that trailer looks beautiful. X]
Guess you're not going to be getting excited then since the word is it's being created using the same engine and tech as Lost Planet and Res Evil 5 and those aren't coming to any Nintendo system anytime soon.
I'm honestly not sure how in the world they manage to get the right to make an Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Whatever it is, I really need to get an Playstation 3 as soon as possible as I will be most likely buying this.
Also, can anyone confirm that the original Megaman is in yet?
How the hell does Chris Redfeild think he can take on Hulk? Maybe all those zombie bites and not getting infected gave him power or something... right? jk. But anyway this would be the same circumstance as Lex Luther in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Oh well, it seems like a really interesting match up none the less. Getting this for sure.

actually the game will run on the general MT Framework which CAN run on Wii.. it has nothing to do with the engine. But there are technical issues, and perhaps also IP issues (Capcom made comments about that concerning MvC2 although they might have only referred to download versions). It's obvious that Capcom will make more exclusive fighters for the Wii since they're happy with the success of TvC and they made comments to this effect many times, so that might be a strategic decision. I might play it on the PS3, probably not, but if it can be on the Wii, it's a very stupid decision not to do it. I think there's a chance this will come to the Wii after all.. announcement in the future.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
Sooooo... since Disney owns Marvel now, can we have Donald and Mickey please ;P
Jack Sparrow.
probably a better chance for THIS to be the Wii exclusive, but who knows. I think it's the other way round though - since the Disney characters never became Marvel ones..

You tried to rebuke my statement but instead validated it. Do you see either Res Evil 5 or Lost Planet coming to the Wii? No, and why? They tried adapting that engine once and it was a complete disaster, see: Rising, Dead. It wasn't good, you can't spin it as good, it was trash on the Wii because the Wii can't handle the engine, and Capcom isn't adapting a new engine just to down convert these games. It's not worth the money for such a little return. They'd end up spending millions redeveloping the engine, the game, the play styles, and for what? 150,000 in sales? Not worth it. That'd be taking profit away from the PS3 and XBox sales. Wii got TvC, just have to be happy with that.

Not only you're not making any sense, you're also showing some ignorance of the subject. The engine was only recently adaptd to the Wii. Yes, they can bring those other titles for the Wii NOW (not then), and we don't if they will or not. However, Marvel characters will be more popular on the Wii than on any other platform. MvC will sell more on the Wii than on the PS3/360, I'm sure of that. Just like Star Wars titles do. Huge mistake by Capcom obviously. Wii got TvC and I'm sure it will get more since Capcom seems happy with its sales. My guess is that it will get its own version of MvC3 too along the road, probably with some additional bonus characters, perhaps Disney's.
