Played it on a friend's PS3 last night. I'm not a fan of the Vs. games or comic book characters in general, but it was fun enough when I wasn't getting air comboed incessantly. I basically just played the Street Fighter characters + Morrigan. I was very sad to see the lack of Zangief (Haggar just isn't close enough for me), but Mordok was hilarious.
I actually don't mind Zangeif's removal from the game. He wouldn't really be that much different from Mike Haggar and I don't see the need for the Street Fighter franchise to have five characters at once when four characters is more then enough. Mike Haggar seems fresh and somewhat original and characters from different series are always welcomed.
(I haven't gotten the game yet, but I do plan on getting it eventually, although it make take awhile)

I own it for PS3. In my opinion, far surpasses SSF4 (well, not FAR, but it is better, I think). Dante is my go-to character thus-far. Great roster of characters, and I can't wait for the 2 DLC characters coming next month, for those who don't already know about the DLC, it's Jill Valentine representing Capcom and Shuma-Gorath for Marvel. I love the game so far, and I love the idea of DLC for characters as well, so we might have a chance of getting some of those unfortunate candidates who had to be left out of the first running order of the roster
I only lament Zangief's absence because he is my favorite character -- in fact, one of my favorite characters from any video game. I agree it's for the best that the characters are spread out between Capcom's other franchises. I'm not a huge Capcom fan though, so I tend to stick to Street Fighter characters mostly, occasionally tossing in Morrigan or Spiderman.
It's freaking amazing, so many flashy lights and explosions and awesome moves. And seriously, I just realized how great this roster is. I have more characters that I want to play as in this game than any other fighting game I've played ever.

I rented the game for my cousin yesterday since we all wanted to try it out on ps3! It's awesome!! Completely surpassed my expectations! I think I'll go ahead and buy it for my xbox.(Cousin has ps3,I have xbox 360.) I love using Zero and Chun li.( later character was obvious wasn't it?) Anyone got it and want to fight tomorrow? EDIT: Time's up,I have to return it now! D; ...So heart breaking.
Yeah, same here. However, I am a little reluctant to get this one because I am afraid that Capcom will just release another updated version a few months later.
Ugh, looks like Capcom is going to milk me of my money again...I hate them so much. Phoenix Wright!? I love Capcom! Why would they pick Rocket Raccoon over Howard the Duck though...
