Some in the Country are Yellow-Ish (it isn't hay.) - FAIL
Does a PS3 have updated graphics from NES?
Some people like 8 or 16 bit "better". - FAIL
Can your 3DS play games?
Yes, Yes it does. - YESH
It's all the same question in my book.
Saying "FAIL" without a explanation of why I got failure, is just a fail on your part pntjr, offense taken. It just makes you look idiotic person with no point.
I'm getting really confused. What is this "3DS" thing, and how is it related to the topic at hand?
Well sir, the 3DS is Nintendo's latest handheld game system. It can display images in 3D without the need for special glasses. You should educate yourself, its quite awesome. How it relates to the topic here is that it is the main competitor to the PS Vita. Also, the OP referenced it in their post so I would say 3DS is quite related.
Ok great! My argument is more for the 3DS being strong enough to be steady even after the Vita launch. I'm not saying it will effect the god damn Vita. Christ.....
Then stop posting in the "Is the PS Vita in trouble" thread?
Just a thought.

how exactly does a system win?
That's easy. It's whichever system has the loudest fans. On this forum it should be obvious which one will win.
It's a pity, because to me a system should "win" by being the best quality.
More like, whichever system has more sales. :C
What, the iPhone? Good, glad you've opened that door. Now every time you go on about how awesome Nintendo consoles are, I'm going to quote this to prove you think the iPhone is better.
I never said the iPhone, I was describing the DS VS PSP or the PS3 VS XBOX 360 VS Wii.
And what's wrong with thinking more then one handheld is awesome? I'm not naive, you know. I enjoy different consoles, and I was saying that ["More like, whichever system has more sales. :C"] in a company's perspective. Ah, and maybe I should quote you whenever you say that you like more then one console from 2 different company's huh?
My only worry is that the 3DS wont live up to the incredibaly high standard that the DS left. It had one of the BEST libraries EVER. I mean, the DS had: 4 kirby games 3 mario games 2 zelda games 13 pokemon games (main games + spin off titles) 1 metroid game 1 star fox game 3 Layton games and SO many killer RPGs: Golden Sun, Shin Megami Tensei, etc. (and thats not even all of them) I know the 3DS just came out, but its predeccesor set the bar REALLY high. I have a feeling that the Vita will have a weak library, like the PSP, and Sony will pull the "It's more powerful, though" excuse like they did all the other times Nintendo pwned them

Yeah, the PSP was a colossal failure, what with it outselling the 3DS in Japan and everything.
to be fair, 3DS is failing so bad right now that it's losing to it's own predecessor (which would be like PS2 selling better than PS3 at any point in time).

@kkslider You've seen the videos, but haven't actually played the game and haven't actually fooled around with the level creations and experienced the amazing online user created content correct? If I'm correct, then I'd understand why you'd not get excited about the possibilities that touch controls will bring to the game. The user created levels in LBP is what makes the game truly amazing and combined with all of Vitas control options, the limits are pushed back even further to what can be created. Oh, and the level that are already created on the PS3, they will be available to play on the Vita version as well, how is that not impressive?
no, I don't see how touch controls make the game an entirely new experience. Gyro, 3D and touch screen doesn't make me want to get OOT again, no matter how better the Water Temple is. But everyone who has already played the game still bought it like sheep, and the same will happen to this game.

No. The iPhone is the Vita's biggest competition.
And the 3DS', for that matter. If Nintendo and Sony were smart, they would contribute joint marketing funds to try and raise awareness of the value of dedicated gaming consoles.
But neither Nintendo nor Sony are especially intelligent businesses, so oh well.

That's fine and good but 3DS is still related to this thread which was my point in the first place.

Then the topic is named wrong.
Let's rephrase. "Is the Vita under threat by the 3DS?" No. That's a flat no. "Is the Vita in trouble?" In a way. The iPhone is 'trouble' for everyone. The 3DS isn't related to the Vita's 'trouble' in any way, though.
But not really, because there's nothing out there to suggest the Vita can't sell well still.
@Waltz: To be fair, while the iPhone argument is plausible, it's too early to say whether or not the 3DS might be. The price drop and AAA titles coming this fall may increase sales by a lot (I know, not saying much now). I think it would be better to save this for next year when the Vita actually enters the battlefield...er...market

@Waltz: Yes, we get that Apple is the greatest thing since sliced bread and Nintendo is a company of drooling dolts that can't do anything right. Give it a rest :/

Sure - and for the record I do think the 3DS will be more successful going forward.
I just don't see the 3DS being competition for the Vita, for this reason: They target utterly different demographics.
Devices compete with one another when a consumer makes a concentrated choice between the two. "I will buy a PS3, but not an Xbox 360," for instance. With the 3DS and Vita, it's different. I don't see how anyone would sit down and research and compare these products before making a choice.
In many ways, I never considered the Wii in competition with the PS3 or Xbox 360, either.
However, I can guarantee that many people will buy iPhones and then say "I don't need a 3DS or Vita for gaming on the go any more." That's a competitive device.
I was entirely serious when I said that if Sony and Nintendo were smart, they'd jointly fund a massive marketing campaign to convince people that dedicated gaming handhelds still hold some value. I see the Vita and 3DS more as allies then enemies.

Give your fanboyism a rest. I noticed you conveniently failed to pick up that I said Nintendo and Sony are not especially intelligent businesses. And I know that in certain groups on this forum criticising something Nintendo does means I must automatically hate the company, but they're not. They make good products. I buy and enjoy those products. But they make cruicial, painful business decisions, over and over again.
Apple (or, more accurately, Steve Jobs) is an especially intelligent business (businessman). Despite making products that many can easily argue are inferior to the competition, Apple has risen to #1 in the world.

I do agree with this completely and it would be awesome to watch.
It'd be like "we will fight to the death tomorrow. But today, we share a common enemy."

To be honest, I'm really surprised it hasn't happened yet. Companies are capable of buddying up when necessary (a group of companies formed a joint fund to outbid Google on a massive Nortel patent auction).
Sony and Nintendo (hell, Microsoft too, since Apple really is Microsoft's enemy) should be seeing the iPhone as a call to necessity.
