Sure, but this topic is Game Informer vs. Nintendo Power and we're comparing new games being announced on one magazine to old games being re-released on the other. Huge difference there.

Game Informer has better Industry coverage than Nintendo Power which is what I love like that. Still both fail compared to edge but gameonfomer has been making a lot of strides.

It's entirely possible that we're not arguing about the same thing, but I'm just saying I can see why you like Game Informer better and (maybe) you can see why I like Nintendo Power better (in terms of exclusives, also: they've had plenty of them in the past and they have another one coming next month).

@Chrono
"Because the controls are indeed awful"
I'm not seeing any "in my opinion", so that is ridiculous. I like the Game's controls. Does that mean I don't exist?

And by the way, you're saying "Announcing new games compared to re-releases."
WHEREVER ARE THESE NEW GAMES?
Nintendo Power announced those THIS ISSUE. GI did none of that. If you're comparing previous GI issues to the Current NP issue, that just feels wrong. Nintendo Power had non-port announcements in previous issues. Last month had the exclusive announcements of Unchained Blades being localized.

I've played the game first hand and I find the controls to be downright awful.

None of those games Nintendo Power announced were new. Game Informer didn't announced any new games this month either but they did have new coverage on Halo 4, Guilds 2 etc.

Well, Nintendo Power had previews of the Wii U versions of Assassin's Creed III, Darksiders II, and Ninja Gaiden 3 Razors Edge. They also had coverage on The Last Story and localization details, Coverage on Pokemon Conquest, as well as Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. A feature on Retro City Rampage and an article on the Smithosonian American Art Museum's game exhibit.

Different stuff, similar amounts of content.

Oh, and about Kid Icarus, of the people I know with the game, the only one who has a problem with the controls is a left-handed person who refuses to play the left handed control scheme. It seems that the people who truly hate the controls are a minority, so you don't have any right to make a generalization like that.

Was all of that in the latest issue? If so, then Nintendo Power is really slow.

More like the majority. Even people who like it say the controls could have been much better.

Or in other words: Stop having a discussion because I have no interest in it and anything I don't like is dumb and the people who like the things I don't are wrong and dumb.

Pretty much 95% of the reviews said almost word for word "The controls take some getting used to but once you are used to it they are fine" from what I remember. I've played a number of games where the controls are fine after a few hours, and this is one of them. So yeah.

Your point is obscured by your inserting your own opinion.

which I wasn't blatantly desperately defending

Slow as in what? Game Informer has only done a quick preview of the Last Story, same with Theatrhythm. Assassin's Creed and Darksiders was using the Wii U build, which IS new. Razors Edge is said to be different than Gaiden 3 itself, but don't quote me on that.

GI hasn't even MENTIONED Conquest, and they only mentioned Epic Mickey 2 this Issue, while last issue NP had a huge cover story on BOTH games, the second GI hasn't even bothered to acknowledge.
What's the slow one here?

I never said either one was slow stop putting words in my mouth. I said Nintendo Power would be considered slow if last issue they were just starting to cover those select few announced Wii U games. No need to go on a rant.

Game Informer has bigger games to cover than Epic Mickey 2 and Conquest. You should be gad they even mentioned either one of them.

except you DIDN'T say that. You said, "Was all of that in the latest issue? If so, then Nintendo Power is really slow."
What in that context tells me that you meant WiiU coverage?

Haha... Like "The Amazing Spider-Man", "SimCity" and "Lego Batman 2".
Their importance is far greater than any handheld game.
Also, I lol'd at that last part.
"You should be glad they even mentioned either one of them."
I should be glad. Wouldn't want them to have full coverage of what their magazine's about. That would make them game journalists.

Considering you named off games like Assassin's Creed 3, Darksiders 2 and Ninja Gaiden 3, I was assuming you were talking about the Wii U and if that was in the latest issue of NP the they need to catch up.

Wouldn't want them to have full coverage of what their magazine's about.

You mean video games? I think they got that covered.

Question how is Kanpur getting all those wii u games exclusive when they were showed the 360 versions and game informer has had the same coverage.

WAT!

Again, I prefer NP, but only because it has a more lighthearted fun feel to it. GI (and other gaming mags I've seen), seem to be more serious, and have a more dark and drab color pallet (to try and appease the more "mature", hardcore gamers).

Both are good, but you can't contest NP's dominance as the funnest gaming magazine out there.

@Chrono
Well, the coverage the got were on the WiiU builds specifically, so I don't think they're late on that.
As for the Coverage comment, I mean, I can find all stories and previews for games GI has talked about online. Plus MORE coverage.
Yet, Nintendo Power seems to have more coverage than a Nintendo based website, such as this.
So for what it does, Nintendo Power does what it sets out to better than GI. Though that's not necessary to enjoy the magazine for what it is.

Well, it's been nice having this exchange, but there's not much direction to go, nor any need. It's been nice debating with you good sir.

Mostly depends on what mood I'm in but I like gaminfomerw more serious tone and muted colors myself.

The last NP covers that impressed me were the epic mickey 2 one and the rayman prgons one.

Silly @Sony,
Didn't your parents ever tell you not to judge a gaming publication by it's cover art?
