Okay, so we all know that Dragon Nest comes to North America (NEXON AMERICA) in the spring/ summer of 2011 along with the new NEXON initiative "Block Party". However I simply wanted to ask if anyone knows when EverPlanet, Husky Express and NEXON Star will come to North America?
Thanks.
BTW below are to grand images from Dragon Nest:

I have never heard of any of these, and no wonder, they seem to be Korean MMOs. You're asking the wrong people, dude. Judging from the last MMO thread, no one here is currently interested in that stuff.

Thanks mickeymac. However, NEXON has been quite well known in the good USA ever since 2005 among gamer cells.
I thought, since this is a Nintendo fan site, Nintendo being Japanese and not to far from Korean and seeing as Nintendo and NEXON have both become business partners that someone here would know something about EverPlanet and Dragon Nest. Plus, NEXON has been at the E3 and San Diego Comic Con ever since 2008 along with Ankama Games.
Anyway, you guys might want to download the demo run for Dragon Nest as it's just as enjoyable as Zelda or Warcraft.
I think a lot of us know what Nexon is. I`ve tried a couple of their games, but I can`t get into them knowing that I already own better games that don`t require me to pay a monthly fee for some random item. Not a huge fan of anything requiring continual payments. Also, not a fan of grinding continuously with no objective. Add that to some terrible servers and hackers out the wazoo.

Well Ravage, you don't have to pay monthly fees for anything in Mabinogi, PopTag or Maple Story and I know because I play quite often. You only have to pay if you so desire. NEXON's games are quite enjoyable and they've made the games virtually hacker proof now and NEXON's gaming experience is quite crisp right now.

Any thing that has to do with Maple Story here, is not Welcome
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Well Dragon Nest is manufactured by Eyedentiy Games and distributed or, to be more precise it is being published by NEXON but it is (from my understanding), a NEXON game.

Virtually hacker proof! I`m not trying to be rude; those games can be fun for a little while. They just... aren`t great... Maybe in the future. But for now, I will stick with my Counter Strike, Guild Wars, and not have to worry about unfair advantages being given to people who paid more.
Maybe the games you mention will be a huge improvement; we just have to wait and see.

Oh. Thats kinda surprising, because Nexon usually plasters its name on everything they make.
Nintendo and NEXON have both become business partners
Nope. I believe that was just Nintendo of Korea partnering with NEXON to get a distribution foothold in the country. The only notable thing to come out of that "partnership" was MapleStory DS, and that would have just been your standard licensing deal anyway.
A Nintendo forum is really the wrong place to talk about this, especially one like NL where we are all so critical of MMOGs.
Um, just because they're geographically close to one another doesn't mean they are particularly similar. They're very different.
Especially when the Japanese, as a culture, have a great deal of contempt for Korea (and China, for that matter, and the contempt is reciprocal). Frankly, the 3 cultures just hate one another. Which is an interesting dynamic if you follow it closely.
Business partnerships don't mean that much, as HolyMackerel said - often (as it probably the case with Nintendo and NEXON), it's opportunistic and limited in scope.
@WaltzElf I could not have observed that "interesting" dynamic at a more personal level had I actually tried. Never a dull moment. It doesn't help that the Japanese are an exceptionally xenophobic, inward-looking society in general - particularly more so than the other two.

Well that is what I thought also in regard to Nintendo and NEXON.
However, I e-mailed a gentleman from the site CNET who is in contact with both Nintendo, NEXON and NEXON America and asked him a few questions about Nintendo, NEXON America, and Dragon Nest among other things and he explained some things to me and among those was the fact that we will see more interaction between Nintendo and NEXON starting next year. One of the things that shall come out of this relationship is that the increasingly popular Dungeon Fighter is going to be on the DS and that NEXON and Nintendo are looking at bringing Maple Story and Dragon Nest to the Wii and the gentlemen also hinted at the 3DS but told me that he had been obliged not to say anything concerning the Nintendo 3DS.
BTW I wasn't talking about the geographical relationship of Korea and Japan. I'm quite aware of the feuding between the regions, I was speaking of the fact that basically they are all "asian". I'm simply a keen observer of whatever emerges from Japan, China, Korea and the whole of the Orient. I really respect the Asians and the interesting things they create. After all, it pays to observe them as the Chinese basically own the American dollar and according to Fareed Zakaria who was featured on the Charlie Rose show this week, it will be either Japan or China that will be the next world super power. I don't if that's frightening or what?

@TokyoRed But if you really "respected" them you'd recognise that they are all extremely distinct, historied cultures. You wouldn't lump them all together as "Asian" like many Americans do somehow. If you were talking about how they are all "Asian" - implying they are all in Asia - that means you actually were only talking about their geographical closeness. lol.
As for China being a superpower, I don't find that frightening. Or, at least, not as frightening as the USA being a superpower.
And the result of your email exchange was basically this: "Nintendo has licensed more NEXON games for future releases on their consoles". If you call that a partnership, then Nintendo has partnerships with some hundreds or thousands of businesses, including Square-Enix, Capcom, Konami, and even small-time developers like goodbyegalaxy games and Nicalis.
Thanks Mac, I certainly wasn't trying to be racist by calling them "Asian", please don't take it that way. I really do like Orientals. As a young man, I really like Japanese girls, but ah, that's a whole different ball game. Anyway, what is your opinion or Dragon Nest? Where any of you able to download the demo?

@TokyoRed "Orientals"! More sweeping labels! Nah, I don't think it's racist. It's just generalising a little too much is all. Even from the gaming perspective, Koreans and Japanese make totally different types of games.
As for NEXON, I haven't played one of their games since Dark Ages back in the late 90s. I've lost interest in MMOGs in general, especially considering FFXIV seems to be quite an immense flop.
LOL Mackeral! I must admit that I gave up on Final Fantasy XIV long, long ago! I was reading a news article and I quite concluded that it wasn't going to hold even once ounce of water.
I do have high hopes for Star Wars The Old Republic, LEGO Universe, DC Universe and Dragon Nest. However, I don't see how in the world Marvel could have buried their MMORPG. Cartoon Network's Fusion Fall has fallen short of the hype that was put behind it while SONY's Free Realms has gone on to glorious success.
MMORPG's are a difficult project to pull off correctly; but alas, it can be done right if given the right minds to develop it. ROSE Online, Ragnarok Online, Dofus, Dofus-Arena and Scions of Fate (Yulgang) are perfect examples of that. Ankama's third installment Wakfu is already garnering great praise and it's not even in official beta status yet. In fact Wakfu stole the gaming floor at Comic Con New York with lines of people waiting to play as it is being distributed by Square Enix in North America.

Yeah, very sad about that. Might still look into it 6 months from now and see if it improves.
Still not 100% sure what MMO, if any, I want to invest in. I will with one one day, just not sure which.
