You haven't tried online yet!?!? Blasphemy, old chap!
Yes, you can keep all your equipment, but you start off as rank 1 and can only hunt small monsters and easy bosses. Completing quests with your team gives you XP which ranks you up so that you can tackle harder quests.
If you have a USB keyboard, I highly recommend you use it for chat online

Nice hunting, guys! Sorry that I left (unless you wanted me to leave ) but I actually played MH3 earlier today and was getting kind of bored of it. Anyway, Rory, just a tip, it's best for your armor to all match (IE wearing all chainmail armor or all hunter armor) because you get better skills.

Yeah the Max is 999. Good luck ever getting there though. I'm at like 125 with over 600 hours into it.

I'll be on later tonight, maybe in 4 hours or so. I was on earlier today and after every mission I got kicked off because of bad connection. Are the servers bad on MHT?

They can be at times. I've noticed Sundays are the worst sometimes. Usually its pretty good though.

I never had any problems until today. I played probably 3 quests and after everyone I got booted. I'm glad it saves your game, some of the quest you gotta work pretty hard to finish them.
