For sure MH Tri was the best Wii game of the year for me. A winning combination of monster-killin' bloodbaths and playing dress-up with pigs. Hundreds of hours of epicness. Non-stunted, full-featured online play. Finally, a real, respectable, high-profile gamer's game for the Wii. I can't even think of another game that would come close to my personal Wii GOTY.
Haven't played many Wii games this year ie smg2 Kirby's no more heroes 2 red steal 2. The few I have played I've enjoyed. Monster hunter just falls short for me of the overall game of the year. I went with dkcr. If I give the nod to monster hunter and capcom feels like well we can give them less and they will be happy it would be a shame. I think capcom could have given much more as far as content. Just look at all the other monster hunters. I don't know how much the online factor took away some of the things they could do but would have been nice to see many more new monster in high rank other then two. Great game just not wii game of the year for me.

Might have to agree. The online could have greatly been improved in some areas, and more monsters should have been implemented.

Aslo beat DKCR in 8 hours with super guide at 70%. I will be generous and say you could add another 12 hours to 100% it. Oh yes, quality over quantity. Well the quality of Monster Hunter was near perfect from start to finish in 700 hours of one play through. Tight Controls ( no motion roll fails). Incredible depth and stategy involved between the different weapons. DKCR is make it from A to B [starts slow clap] Oh wait you have done that before huh? Nevermind.
Didn't even mention the Rocket Barrel either.
Anyway different stokes for different folks but Monster Hunter Tri was above and beyond the greatest game to hit the Wii year.
I have to say that MH is a good series and MH3 is really good but I'm not sure if it is game of the year. If it isn't though, it is one of the top games on the list though.

@JayArr i agree on monster hunter vote and thats what i voted for idk about donkey country returns havent played but i do watch the challenges on the nintendo channel and find the game quite interesting but still havent played.

@Chucko The Jaggi Mask only gives enough skill points for Good Luck. Upgrading it only increases its armour rating and rarity, not its skill points. You'll need a talisman or some decorations which give at least 5 more Fate skill points to get Great Luck.

I agree. If there is one thing i would change about Monster Hunter Tri it would be to add more monsters. Fortunatley though, each hunt is different and almost never becomes repedative, This game deserves GOTY. Not even close.

If you consider it compared to any other online multiplyer for wii it's the best hands down. But if you look at it alone, it could use a bit of fine tuning. Any better and might just stop playing all my other wii games!
