@Lazz
Yea, I went for it because I got it for half off. This amount of game for 30 bucks - still pretty sweet. They did an excellent job of immersing you in Hogwarts.
Finally pulled the trigger on Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration. I know there's an update/new version coming, but I'll likely just pay for it as DLC when it arrives.
Trails of Coldsteel 3 2 1, started with number 3 on Switch, played the Daybreak demo and fell in love. Sucks I haven't even tried these games now im hooked! (b ' ' )b

Pixel Game Maker Series Moon Viewing Jump Rabbit - basically jump king but cuter. You have a very hard to control jump and get to climb up a tall tree and can easily fall to the bottom. Pressing the a button will let your rabbit roll around on the ground with frustration while random cheerleading animals come to cheer you on. Also, there are power ups like balloons but they are rare and they are much worse than it seems like they should be.
...Saw videos of this game and let's plays last year, and I just lost interest very quickly. But then I noticed it had a demo much later and played it...and decided to finally buy the game. lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Went on a massive eShop splurge over the last two weeks to celebrate the school year finally coming to a close, picking up a ton of titles that I've wanted for the last long while in the process. These include:
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2
Mega Man Zero/ZX Collection
Castlevania Advance Collection
Shovel Knight Treasure Trove
Behold the Kickmen
Eastward
I also pre-ordered Shadow of the Ninja Reborn for the end of August so my gaming schedule is pretty set for the next year or so XD
Been very controlled recently, hardly bought any new games in the last month or two, mainly just due to catching the saving bug, squirrelling money away and enjoying watching it grow.
Kicked all that into touch tonight:
Nintendo Switch Lite - Hyrule Edition (pre-order)
Kingdom Come Deliverance Royal Edition
Fate/Samurai Remnant
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
Outward Definitive Edition
The Stanley Parable: Deluxe Edition (pre-order)
Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition (pre-order)
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit - Now it’s been like 10 days! How’s the Banana Rumblings going? 😃
Thank you for coming back to me about this, you're not going to let me off the hook, are you 😆
So, brutal honesty...
Well, let's start with some context: I've always liked the series, the vibe, the arcade-style presentation and gameplay, but I've not really ever mastered it or learnt it inside-out.
So with Banana Rumble, I'm finding it's good gameplay-wise - once through the opening levels I'm not particularly thinking 'Oh this level's just like one I've played a thousand times before', but of course, there's nothing mind-blowingly new about it so far either. It's More Monkey Ball basically.
On-the-whole it controls well, but I've not got on particularly well with the new Spin Dash yet. Hopefully that's more just a matter of giving it time, but so far I've struggled to use it effectively. The jumpiness of the default sensitivity on it (maybe I can adjust this, not sure), coupled with the stage time limits, mean any time I have to try to use it it feels a bit panicky and wild. I keep seeing Golden Bananas and assuming I'll need to use Spin Dash to somehow reach them, but for now they elude me.
I haven't played anything but Story Mode so far, so no comments for now on the other modes.
What I'm finding underwhelming are the in-game graphics. Cutscenes are nice. A bit soft perhaps, but kinda fitting the SMB legacy/tropical vibe. But in-game, if someone told me I was playing a port of a Wii game, or GameCube even, I probably wouldn't question it. The visuals just seem to be based off those designs from 20 years ago, with little done to make this new game feel special or current-gen. Blocky shapes, low detail/resolution, bland and fairly simple textures. With not much going on in the special effects department to make me think compromises needed to be made. Maybe its to reduce the visual difference between the single player and multiplayer experience. But I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed by the lack of pop, dazzle and beauty.
I hope and think that once I've played it a lot more (only cleared the first 4 worlds out of 10), got better at it so that I appreciate the challenges more, and played the other modes, it will feel like an 8+/10 experience, but I think my initial 2 hours of play have mostly felt more like a 7/10 time.
@gcunit I appreciate that detailed interim review, thank you; I've been trying to decide whether to get the game or wait. I think I'm a similar type of player for this particular series. I'll be interested to hear what you think about multiplayer since that seemed to be the biggest complaint from official reviews.
Clock Towe the SNES version is one of my favourite gamesl
Also Heavens Vault collectors edition (limited Run)it was cheap and looked like Longest Journey. I tried a few times to get into this but failed
Lastly Werewolf heart of the Forest you play a woman & she may or may not be a Werewolf. Another game I can’t get into so put Heavens Vault and Werewolf on my Facebook see if anyone wants them free before they go in the charity.
