Is anybody else getting a bit impatient bout genshin impact?
Seriously they announced it like 2-3 years ago and it’s still not on the switch!
If I’m sounding immature then I’m sorry but could they at least explain what’s taking them so long?
Development is probably on hold until the Switch successor is released in a couple or few years. That, or Nintendo wants too big of a cut of the microtransactions. The game did generate over a billion in revenue last year.

I think they might be trying to bring it out along side cross save, so maybe thats it? that or they just have a lot on there plate, I got an I pad not that long ago so I have been just playing it on that with my ps4 saves.
Edit: it could also be a that they scrapped it, just all smooth like, because I agree with you, its been a wile, I just got tired of waiting.
I have a feeling they might support the Switch starting with Version 3.0, which should be some time in the middle of the year. We might see an announcement in the next Direct if true.
@Greatluigi My impression is in line with Magician's, the dev's tweets, or news buzz, seemed like they kept delaying a release date because they couldn't get it to run acceptably on the Switch. Then they went silent. If I remember right, Genshin Impact's website used to have the Switch mentioned as a platform, and mention of the Switch was removed, like, at least a year ago. I think they gave up on bringing it the the Switch. I really wanted this game on the Switch, too. So, it's a bit disappointing.
@iLikeUrAttitude The ps4 one runs like Crapo! idk what happened, it shouldn't have even been an issue, but damn was that a bad port.
the ps5 one however, runs just like you'd think the ps4 would run a mobile game.
the ps4 takes like a 1 minute to even load into the screen, then another to load into the game itself. When you transport to other places it takes around 30 maybe 20 sec's for it to load, its choppy, the FPS is unstable as all get out, its looks messy in places, It doesn't even seem like its trying, as the ps4 as ran waaaay more taxing games, with no issue.
the ps5 however, has no load times, like at all, its smooth as butter, a stable FPS, it looks outstanding to boot! so maybe thats it, maybe there trying not to mess it up like they did the ps4 version, like my god. My Ipad loads that game so fast it puts the ps4 to shame.
@iLikeUrAttitude The PS4 version has some performance issues and long load times. It's not unplayable by any means but it's not what you'd expect from the PS4. I recently got a PS5 and it's like night and day. Unless they manage to really optimize the game for Switch, or severely cut back on the visuals, I really don't see it running well on Switch. They're probably waiting for a potential Switch Pro.
@iLikeUrAttitude The PS4 version looks good but constantly has frame drops and struggles to keep a steady 30, it occasionally just freezes for a second or two to load up menus and takes a long time to load basically anything. The PS5 version as you’d expect almost always has a solid frame rate, doesn’t freeze occasionally and loading takes a few seconds. The switch version should run better considering it’s been 2 years since the announcement of the port and they’ve had more then enough time with the tech.

I'm pretty sure the Switch could run it, as it's above the minimum specs for the Android version. However, I'd suspect that 'acceptably' is the key word.
The game runs on some very low end PCs and mobile phones - well below the spec level of the PS4 or even the Switch - but is increasingly prone to sudden freezes and frame drops the weaker they get. They'd doubtless face a backlash if the game were to arrive on the Switch in such a state so they'd probably want to spend a fair amount of time optimizing it for performance.
It maybe that they're still doing that or it's also possible that it's been quietly dropped because they don't think they're likely to get there. We had quite a long wait for games like Overwatch and Hellblade to come to Switch on account of this but they made it eventually. Others didn't though.
My supposition is, either they're outsourcing it to a Switch port specialist or they're simply giving up.
I guess it's possible they've been hard at work optimizing a Switch port all this time. And in that case, Nintendo definitely has paid them a handsome sum to push it through. But more likely, in my opinion they made a grand assumption that a Switch Pro/2 would launch with PS4-ish specs.
Like others I have a Genshin account but haven't gone back for a while because waiting for the arrival of a Physical verison on the Switch to play with options for Offline/Online play without having to sit at my Gaming Desktop to just play.
@SwitchForce A physical version of Genshin is highly unlikely because the game is required to stay connected to servers with constant updates releasing regularly. A physical copy wouldn’t be able to play without updates and a constant internet connection. And the game is free so there’s no point buying a physical copy for a live service game, I doubt they will rework the game for the small percent of people asking for a physical version.
