Online price is reasonable though I still think they should offer free VC games for download (not just download for free for a month). I'm expecting a PS+/XBL Gold type membership to be released probably during year 2 once the VC library is built up more.
Shocked they are doing a Super Bowl ad, and even more shocked that the ad doesn't feature 1,2 Switch given the wide range of people that will be watching during that time.
Hopefully, this is a sign that Nintendo is starting to get it regarding marketing in the west. LIVE EVENTS are where the money should be spent. March Madness, NBA playoffs, etc. That's where they should be throwing marketing dollars at in the coming months after the Super Bowl.
Karen is the lady from the 1st Switch trailer who was playing Mario and who went viral what with memes of her being at parties with her Switch etc...@Maxz
@Octane@G0dlike Thank you both. I'm now super clued up on Karen. I know more than I ever thought there was to know about Karen. I could practically do a PhD on Karen.
I'm not sure what to do with my new found knowledge, but... well, it's there. Waiting to be called into action.
Nothing confirmed about the online subscription fee though. All you saying this news is good should keep it to yourselves as Nintendo will likely take such a reception to mean they can charge more and people will still be ok with it.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

i agree. thats how business works and people here fail to understand this year after year.

@gcunit@ogo79 I disagree. Suggesting a great price for a product to later go above that price is ridiculous marketing. People would be mad. They would likely be more mad if the final price is $40 after being suggested it might be $25 than if they never heard anything about the price and it ended up at $60.
@AlliMeadow Problem is that Nintendo never suggested it's going to be $25. 2000/3000 yen doesn't mean its going to be €25/$25 over here. The Switch itself for example is 29980 yen (€245), but is €330 over here in Europe. Until they officially announce the price for the west, we don't really know. All we know is that it's probably not going to be €60/$60.

If Nintendo is reading this board and incorporating our feedback in any meaningful way (which they are definitely not, let's be clear), then please explain:
-Why no Metroid
-Why underestimate NES Classic demand
-Why hilariously bad Wii U marketing
-Why bone-headed decision to charge for Mario Run
-Why... well, EVERYTHING?!
sometimes the term supply and demand means just that.

Boom!!! Switch online will only be $20-25 per year!
Now THAT I can do. I wouldn't pay no $60 but $20? To have voice chat in Nintendo games and more games with online, that alone is worth $20 a year
I'm still hoping that they'll put subscription time up as a My Nintendo reward. Specifically gold coin rewards. Originally when I put this idea on the table I thought "buy a game, get a month". If it ends up being that cheap? It should be buy a game, get 3 months.

Carry on the celebrating.
Why ignore good decisions for bad ones?
Why only mention bad decisions?

So apparently EBGames Australia are ringing around asking people who've pre-ordered whether or not they want to pick it up on day 1 or not. Specifically if you're ok with waiting until the second shipment so that your order can be available to people who walk in without a pre-order. And if you don't pick it up within the first weekend they'll automatically move you to the second shipment. Never heard of this happening before.
I think it's fair to say that the Switch is doing pretty well..... and EBGames are being a bit dodgy not honouring their upto 2 week pre-order hold guarantee.

Not that I think they listen to fan forums but I'll have a go at explaining anyways:
1. We haven't got Metroid because Metroid doesn't sell. Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing and Splatoon do
2. To be fair they are probably right to use those factories to manufacture a certain other product....
3. Early on they marketed it like it was the Wii. When it was sinking they pulled resources
4. Why are people so defensive of the free-to-play model?
