I got Red Dead last week, full £££ of course (!), and honestly don't really begrudge the admission price too much.

There is a lot of talk about this being a 'lazy' port... when in fact, it is actually just a 'port'. If RDR was being pushed as a remaster, with same product being released, then you could certainly coin it a lazy remaster.... but as a port, it is absolutely acceptable.

I've never had a chance to play/own this, and therefore thrilled it is on Switch.

However - I don't gladly accept the pricing model touted by Rockstar, and do understand why this is so divisive. In a way, had they released this game at a 20-25£ pricepoint then they would have been heralded as heroes! A shame though that the slightly greedy pricing has dominated the narrative here, when in essence we have a solid port of a great game on a brilliant platform...

Nintendo just announced their Gamescom lineup via the Switch news section:

So looks like no Teal Mask DLC, Detective Pikachu Returns, SMB Wonder or Super Mario RPG.

Watched Kinda Funnys podcast about thier top 10 2d platformers. Not that they had the definitive list, but nearly all, if not every game they listed is on switch. Good for us 🙂.

Makes me wonder what my top 10 2d platformer list would look like.

@NintendoByNature Just 2D? That's hard, especially since you have to decide if you include metroidvanias and rogue-likes and such; most 2D action games have some type of jumping. I find that my love of literally any game goes up if you can jump; even the fact that you can hop over holes in Animal Crossing New Horizons made me happy.

You should try to come up with your top 10 and post it! Here is the list I thought of after thinking for 5 minutes. In no particular order:

• Mega Man - not sure which is my favorite but it deserves a spot.
• Shantae - same comment as above.
• Super Mario Brothers 3 - a classic.
• Super Mario World - Mario deserves multiple spots.
• Super Mario Maker 2 - limitless games in one.
• Rayman Legends - best music levels.
• Ori - insanely beautiful.
• Rogue Legacy - love the absurd double air dash triple jump combos.
• Disney's Aladdin - childhood nostalgia above platforming quality? Maybe.
• Awesome Pea 2 - I thought about Super Meat Boy but I enjoy this little game more.

@FishyS oh boy, it's going to take me a few. I'll probably think system to system and pick 1-2 from each. I'll probably leave off metroidvanias like kinda funny did. It's kind of its own genre really Even if some are platform heavy like ori or guacamelee which are 2 I adore.

I think that Steamworld build is going to be my next purchase. Provided it runs well on Switch.

I'm onboard, just not at day-one. I assume Super Rare Games will negotiate to release it physically.

@Magician cool! I tend to go on price and release date. I’m not as into physical as I used to be so whatever is sooner and cheaper is what I go with.

Fae Farm is 60 bucks? I will wait on reviews.

I'm literally only halfway through my very first Fire Emblem (Blazing Blade on NSO) and am already heavily considering picking up both Three Houses and Engage, WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME

Literally everyone I've introduced Fire Emblem to, and who has played through a significant chunk of one of the games, has stuck with the series, or at least explored further in.

@Ralizah I've had so many people tell me I should play Fire Emblem to the point where I now feel exactly like Squidward in that one episode where he tries a Krabby Patty for the first time.

Monster Hunter Rise. still have regular Rise. dont have the new DLC stuff yet
