Goodness. That seems to be a very different stance than Platinum used to take, where they never made sequels. Wasn't Bayonetta 2 the first game to really buck that trend? I think it was.

Guess reality has settled in a bit that new IP often don't perform as well as established IP. And as long as Nintendo keeps contracting them for more Bayonetta, they stay employed with stable work.

I'm all about it. Bayonetta is one of my fave series of all time. And each one seems better than the last. So ya, let's do it. We can start with Bayonetta 4 being announced for Switch 2.

I definitely think Bayonetta 3 will be the best selling entry. How can it not. It's selling into an install base of practically 120 million units by time of release. Bayonetta 2 sold into an install base of 10 million at the time.

If Astral Chain can crack a mil on Switch releasing in 2019 as a new IP, surely Bayonetta 3 can match that releasing in 2021 as an established IP. My only hope is that it can cross 2 million rather than just 1. But let's at least get to Astral Chain at the very least, which iirc is now at 1.25m.

Finally!!!

2 TB Micro SD Cards Incoming In 2023!!!

https://betanews.com/2022/09/28/kioxia-2tb-microsdxc-card-sto...

Not long ago, Micron announced 1.5 TB micro SD cards, unfortunately, they don't seem to be for sale anywhere yet, and after messaging their sales team, was told they could only be purchased in bulk of 100 or more, starting at around $43,000, and the lead time was currently 27 weeks. So... ya. Who knows when or even if these will go on sale for the average retail buyer.

But now we have the first ever 2 TB micro SD prototype manufactured, with scheduled release of 2023. They're coming.

When Switch released in March 2017, the largest micro SD was 256 GB. With the sheer volume of games on Switch today, even the almighty 1 TB doesn't come close to covering it. And tbh, not even the 2 TB will fully cover it. But at least the 2 TB will cover much more. All the essentials, anyways.

@JaxonH I might buy the OG DOOM if it comes on sale soon (for within $3.44 in points at least lol)

OG Doom is fun, but personally I like Doom 64 more because aiming is 2D instead of 1D, so the gyro really helps. Of course, the 2016 reboot and Eternal are chef's kiss.

@JaxonH I think the perils of live service was probably a big factor, we saw what happened to Babylon's Fall. Ever since Fortnite's gigantic success, live service has massively taken over gaming and while there have been other success stories like Apex Legends, FFXIV and Fall Guys there's been a massive amount of games that have suffered from the live service model.

Having plans for that many Bayonetta sequels is pretty much confirmation that Bayonetta isn't turning live service anytime soon. Given how well Astral Chain did, I could see an Astral Chain sequel happening too.

On a slightly related note, I think Sony's going to be in for a rude awakening regarding their gigantic upcoming live service focus. 11 upcoming Playstation Studios live service games to be released by 2025 including 2 by the end of March 2023 meanwhile very few Playstation Studios single player games after this year seems almost guaranteed to backfire.

I'ma be honest with ya Giancarlo- I have no idea. But at this point, I don't even care. I'm that desperate for a larger size, I'll take whatever I can get.

Normally I'm with ya 100%. SanDisk or bust. But beggars can't be choosers, as they say.

I saw that MK8 Deluxe is out of stock at Amazon, most likely it's just normal out of stock stuff but it did make me wonder how long Nintendo licensed the Mercedes cars for.

That free Wii U update was over 8 years ago.

Mercedes probably doesn't care. It's free advertising for them.

I hope Sony doesn't give Nintendo ideas. That HZD remaster sounds absurd, you can already play the game on PS5 (since launch via backwards compatibility) but also at 4k 60fps via a free patch which released in August 2021. A PS5 $70 remaster is not needed, you can't even use PC as an excuse as HZD came to PC in 2020.

Wii U ports on Switch makes sense (and I'm happy with) as there's no backwards compatibility (they couldn't in any way have added backwards compatibility given the size of Wii U discs) but I would expect full Switch backwards compatibility for the next Switch.

Not only do they make sense due to no BC, they make sense as hybrid versions, and they make sense because so few played them on Wii U.

Switch 2 remasters would make far less sense as the games would already be BC and hybrid. But I don't think that's gonna happen.

Sony sells graphics. And they've learned they can keep reselling the same games an unlimited number of times as long as the spec sheet has higher numbers.

Who knows what the future holds, and I can't say I wouldn't be interested in any Switch remasters. But Switch games have a lot of room to improve. Whereas realistic games already running at high resolutions do not.

Anti-Matter

@Kermit1
I would like to see Pokemon Fusion (two different Pokemon combined into new Pokemon) like on Yokai Watch or Monster Rancher games.
I'm not sure the Pokemon fans are ready with that idea as I found some of Pokemon Fusion ideas from Instagram were really good.

Rhythm gonna hit your head.
