@Kermit1 It honestly makes to have a trailer focused on Mario as the last Mario platformer was the 3D World port in February 2021 which by Mario standards was a long time ago. This year and most of last year has been all about giving the spinoffs the spotlight. Mario Sports, more content for Mario Kart, looking back on Mario Party's past, the return of strategy gameplay with Mario + Rabbids.

@JaxonH I ended up managing to preorder the Bayonetta 3 special edition but now I'm wondering whether to swap for the standard edition. Bayonetta 1 physical is exclusive to the My Nintendo Store in Europe which means it'll be a mess trying to preorder meanwhile both that and XC3 Special Edition got delayed. I want to be able to play Bayonetta 3 day 1 and my interest in the special edition would be less if I'm unable to get Bayonetta 1 physical.
The game is $60, same as it's always been. It literally says right on the eShop, $59.99
The game is NOT $70. There is a BUNDLE that includes the $20 DLC upgrade for a discount- $60 game + $20 DLC for $70, and just so happens to land at the "magic number" everyone is freaking out about. But that's not for the base game. That's for a bundle
Is it too high given the age of the game? Absolutely. Is the price fair game to be criticized? You bet. Is it ridiculous the price is higher than other platforms? Obviously. But this is unequivocally not the same thing as a brand new base game releasing for $70. It's just not. It's no different than Monster Hunter Rise Deluxe Edition for $70 ($60 game + $10 DLC), or Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak Set for $80 ($60 game + $40 DLC) or Mario Rabbids Gold Edition for $90 ($60 game + $30 DLC).
And anyone trying to spin a narrative that it is a "dangerous precedent" is clearly ignoring the fact games are still $60 on PS4/X1. That price only applies to PS5/XS. Systems that were already out before they released have seen no change. And Switch is no exception to that.
This is nothing more than a creative way to charge more than $60, but devs have been doing that for 10 yrs now. We see it with every $70-80 Deluxe Edition. There's a clear distinction between a game that DOES have a $60 version on offer with an optional $70 version with more content, and a game that DOES NOT have a $60 version on offer and only sells at a base price of $70. The two are not the same.
They could have sold this bundle for no discount at $80 and nobody would have blinked. Complained about high price? For sure. But nobody would have misconstrued a bundle with $20 DLC package for a base game price. But because the total just so happened to land on 70 all the attention sluts are, "Ooh! Ooh! $70 game!"
It irks me to no end. I've seen people I previously respected trying to sell this narrative and had to unsubscribe or block them on social media. So tired of fake news for outrage clicks. I expect as much from ppl like RGT85 and ReviewTechUSA. They live for fake news rage clicks. But even Spawnwave? Just goes to show how ppl are willing to take advantage of a lie agreed upon.

I'm a little confused. Hasn't nintendo themselves been doing this with games? Wasn't mario + rabbids bundled with the dlc for like 80 or 90 at launch? And that was year 1.
